The new Innovation Hall in Bothell is the first academic building in the country shared by a university (University of Washington Bothell) and a community college (Cascadia College). Using a progressive-design build delivery, the project team led by Lewis and Mithun maximized space for instruction and research while weathering a variety of unforeseen challenges: from a concrete strike to pandemic-related cost hikes. With labs and classrooms for chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, and mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as study areas and faculty offices, Innovation Hall expands STEM learning and research opportunities —especially among historically underserved populations—while meeting the ever-growing need for STEM graduates in Washington state. https://lnkd.in/dJJ2XiFx 📷: Lara Swimmer

Lease Crutcher Lewis reposted this
Thank you, Lauren, for sharing this as our Lease Crutcher Lewis team feels indebted once again at the opportunity to have partnered with both the Providence (Kevin Dunn) and Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP team to deliver such great work. Looking forward to the next!
I had the honor of starting my day with a blessing ceremony at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, celebrating the opening of the Phil & Penny Knight Pavilion. This beautiful space honors our community, our donors, and our patients and caregivers through thoughtful design choices. Huge congratulations to Kevin Dunn, Nikki D. John, ZGF Architects, Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the hospital administrative team on a truly special project!

Our Women’s Development Group is among the companywide affinity groups that give employees the chance to develop relationships with one another and connect on similar challenges they might face in the industry. Earlier this week, the Seattle group hosted a fireside chat with Lewis leaders Coriann Presser, Shannon Testa, and James Furlan. The goal was to foster open dialogue about strategies for promoting diversity and inclusion, hear how group members can play more active roles with the company, and discuss how members can support initiatives that contribute to Lewis' success. Attendees had an opportunity to share their feedback, get to know the new leaders, and network with fellow group members.

This month, crews are putting the finishing touches on the masonry façade at Chapter Building I in Seattle’s University District. This amounts to 2.4 million pounds of material and an astounding 260,000 bricks installed by hand over the building’s prefabricated exterior stud wall panels. In addition to the brick masonry facades, the two ends of the building are joined by a glass curtain-wall expression to help break up the massing. The 320,000-square-foot office project, designed by CollinsWoerman, wraps up this summer for Urban Renaissance Group, Touchstone LLC, and PORTMAN. 📷: Tim Rice
