Out of the nearly 10,000 rental equipment suppliers in the U.S., most conduct business exclusively by phone or email, with concerns about fraud, product availability, and quality control keeping the industry analog. The lack of e-commerce capabilities keeps chips on the table for the majority of suppliers in this $60B industry. To adapt and compete in a digital world, rental suppliers must supplement their existing models with e-commerce platforms.   We are excited to announce our Seed investment in BoxedUp, a leader in e-commerce solutions for rental equipment suppliers. BoxedUp allows rental equipment suppliers to launch their own e-commerce platforms, all while seamlessly integrating into existing rental management systems. Equipment suppliers in turn can quote and book online and expand their footprint, while keeping track of their equipment, preventing fraud, and saving time & resources with automation.    Suppliers across the country are using BoxedUp’s tools to launch e-commerce storefronts on top of their existing infrastructure. BoxedUp integrates into existing rental management services, catalogs existing products across customers for easy onboarding, invoice automation, and insurance and customer validation. Rental suppliers have a full suite of products under one roof, digitized and automated. Customers easily view product availability on a supplier’s website and schedule a rental delivery with a click. These are the tools that will grow the previously analog circular economy.   Lavrock has a long history of investing in e-commerce and circular logistics solutions for legacy industries, like our investments in Dataships and Apkudo. We believe greater transparency of pricing, product availability, and ease of use will expand these economies to more people in more places.
