Fruition! The fulfillment of an idea or goal, or simply the process of bearing “fruit.” It’s Harvest time, when all the folks that provide us our food and drink work their tails off to gather their yields from the land. I love this time of year. The 4th quarter is in full swing and the bounty of our success’s and failures take shape. I joined my friends, founders and owners, of #LabelleWinery, Amy LaBelle, Cesar Arboleda, and their wine maker Melaney Shepard in harvesting their award winning vineyards in New Hampshire. Yep, there’s vineyards in NH. As Amy put it at the beginning of ‘23, “this was going to be the best year yet for our grapes.” They did everything to perfection and as planned. The only problem, Mother Nature had a different idea and dropped a frost on NH in late May and devastated their vineyards. They took a moment to be pissed and then they did what they always do, took the best next step and kept working the land. Their vines must have felt the strength of their resilience and grit, because new vines sprouted and started to produce a yield. All was not lost. Harvest Day was this weekend. During a normal year, they harvest over 15,000 lbs of grapes 🍇, this year 400 lbs. Moral of the story, when Nature, or whatever outside force, brings you Frost - make Rose’. The fruits of your labor will pay off. Keep going! Can’t wait to taste the Rose’ at #LabelleWinery. #grit, #attitude, #resillience
