KS Associates has kicked off surveying services for the significant $260 million Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District Big Creek Storage Tunnel (BCT) project. KS is a subconsultant to Wade Trim, which his leading the design of the new 22,440-foot-long, 20-foot-diameter tunnel. The BCT is the largest and last of seven large-diameter tunnels that NEORSD will design, construct, operate, and maintain as part of Project Clean Lake to reduce annual wet weather CSOs discharged to Lake Erie and its tributaries. Site Development Group - KS provides civil engineering services for institutional, educational, residential, commercial, and government projects. We work with architects, owners, municipalities, and other clients to develop plans that address all site-related issues including grading, utilities, stormwater best management practices, and pre- and post-construction stormwater pollution prevention. Surveying Group - KS operates a large, technically skilled, and experienced in-house Survey Group that provides a breadth of surveying services including topographic, hydrographic, boundary, NSPS/ACSM Land Title, Airport/Aeronautical surveys; Submerged Land Lease surveys; right-of-way plan preparation; GPS-grade surveying; confined-space surveying; construction staking; 3D laser scanning; and Reality Capture services. Government Services Group - The KS Government Services Group provides planning, design, bidding and construction administration services for public works projects. We work with municipalities in the areas of potable water, waste water and storm water design.

Thank you Christopher M. Day for organizing the "Tour de KS" - a bike ride along a route filled with KS Associates, Inc. projects. Our tour included the Nature-Based shoreline at Wendy Park, the Wendy Park pedestrian bridge, new boat docks at Rivergate and Heritage Parks, the Cuyahoga River Water Taxi Stations, construction underway at Irishtown Bend, the Port of Cleveland Bulk Terminal, the Redline Greenway Trail (survey project), and many others. Yesterday, KS Associates, in collaboration with Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Cleveland Metroparks, co-led the second Ohio Nature-Based Shoreline Certification Program, which culminated with the installation of a living shoreline at Wendy Park. The shoreline has experienced significant erosion due to high lake levels and storm events. More than 60 participants installed native plants, coir logs, and protective fencing to stabilize the shoreline and help protect the popular volleyball court area. Nice job, everyone, on this impactful shoreline restoration effort! #coastalrestoration #coastalengineering
