#ICYMI: Yesterday, several legislators led by Assembly Member Rick Zbur, and including Assembly Member Cottie Petrie-Norris, Assembly Member Jim Wood, Assembly Member Mike Gipson, Assembly Member Dawn Addis, and Assembly Member Lowenthal, held a press conference to bring attention on passing a climate bond. Specifically, these legislators emphasized the need to pass a #climatebond that includes port infrastructure funding to help develop offshore wind projects. In addition, a diverse group of stakeholders, including KP client Offshore Wind California, participated in the press conference and sent a letter addressed to Governor Newsom and legislative leaders indicating their support for $1 billion dedicated in a climate bond that would support port infrastructure upgrades in California which are needed to build offshore wind projects and meet the state’s climate change goals, address grid reliability challenges, and provide high quality workforce jobs.
