From Intern to Hired: Kaela Helms Kaela’s internship was during the summer of 2022 in Financial Reporting. Her responsibilities included audit support and internal control stewardship, but one experience that stood out above the rest was a memorable Q&A session with Charles Koch. She’s still in Financial Reporting today, where she continues to expand on the knowledge she gained as an intern. “I’ve been fulfilled in my role at Koch through continued learning and daily challenges – there is always something to learn! Being able to shape my role around my passions and interests to best suite my strengths has also allowed me to use the transformation and automation skills I’ve built to optimize and improve processes and productivity to provide value.”

From Intern to Hired: Brooke Laverentz Brooke was a Sales Analyst intern for Koch Fertilizer during the summer of 2016. Her experience included building business knowledge and professional skills as well as the opportunity to establish a network at Koch that served as a kick-start to her full-time career. Since her internship, she has supported the Koch Fertilizer business in logistics and sales. “As Logistics and Planning Director I find daily fulfillment through supporting a great team of people as they continually create value for the company, identify and drive transformation, and grow and develop on their own unique journeys.”

Meet Adam Birkenbuel 👋 Adam is working with at our Koch Fertilizer Dodge City plant this summer as our health and safety intern. He is a junior studying occupational health and safety at the University of Central Oklahoma. Adam's interest in safety started when he took a safety class as an elective in high school. From there, he enjoyed the class and decided to pursue a career in safety. "What I am looking forward to the most during my internship is being able to apply the knowledge that I am learning in my classes into the real world," Adam says. "I know the dangers of working unsafely and want to help prevent them. In most circumstances when someone gets hurt it is because of something incredibly simple." #NationalSafetyMonth #KochIntern2024 #LifeAtKoch

Last week, we hosted an amazing group of Koch Engineered Solutions, Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, LLC, and Georgia Pacific interns from Wichita, Enid, and Muskogee. The day included an overview of John Zink, a Research & Development Test Center tour, and manufacturing shop tours. Special thanks to our team for organizing such a successful visit. This diverse exposure allows interns to apply their talents across the company and see the interconnectedness of Koch Industries. By experiencing different facets of our operations, they gain a comprehensive understanding of how each part contributes to our overall success, while also benefiting from valuable networking and growth opportunities. We look forward to continuing this collaborative initiative.
