Congratulations to Heather Rosing, Teresa Beck, Tara Burd, and Stacey Kartchner for being named 2024 Women of Influence in the Law by the San Diego Business Journal. It is a rare feat for a law firm to have four awardees, and each of these amazing women has done do much for the San Diego legal community and beyond. A past trustee of the State Bar of California, Ms. Rosing was the inaugural president of the California Lawyers Association when it was created in 2018, and continues to be active on a national level in the legal profession. Ms. Beck is the immediate past president of the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations, and helped NCWBA launch a brand new DEIB Toolkit for bar associations. Ms. Burd currently serves as Chair of the California Lawyers Association, which is dedicated to the professional advancement of attorneys practicing in the state of California. Ms. Kartchner is the President of The San Diego County Bar Association Bar, the largest local bar association with over 7,000 members. On June 19th, we pause to commemorate Juneteenth, and to renew our unwavering Call to Action. In 2020, the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery rocked the country. The reverberations from their killings continue to be felt to this day, and Klinedinst remains resolute in doing our part to make a difference. Change is possible, but it begins with every one of us. The three day conference takes place at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass, and is the main event hosted by the State Bar. This year's theme is "Balancing the Scales of Justice," and brings together practitioners from across the state for CLE and networking. The State Bar of Arizona pre-dates Arizona becoming a state, and is charged with serving both the legal community and the general public.
