Just incredible. I'm continuously amazed and inspired by the human race and what we are capable of. Yesterday Intuitive Machines overcame incredible technical challenges and stuck what appears to be a perfect landing on the moon. Onboard was Lonestar Data, one of KittyHawk Ventures portfolio companies that is focused on building data centers and edge computing in space. Exciting to see these great teams going after such audacious goals and to be making great progress. A huge congratulations to the team at Lonestar Data Holdings Inc. for successfully accomplishing their mission objective to transmit data to and from Intuitive Machines's lunar lander on its journey to the Moon. This is an important milestone that begins a new era in data protection and disaster recovery. Their data storage and edge computing capabilities will also be extremely important for our rapidly growing space based economy. Today we successfully tested our Data Center concept En Route to the Moon in CIS LUNAR SPACE. Our Independence Payload is a technical proof of concept test for Disaster Recovery that stored data for the State of Florida thanks to Space Florida, transmitted a digital copy US Declaration of Independence for storage in flight to the Moon working with the amazing team at Intuitive Machines. The document transmitted back to demonstrate restore was the Constitution and Bill of Rights. All on Presidents' Day. We made history. A whole new industry in space, a whole new service for premium global data storage. Our incredible team at Lonestar did an amazing job and all kudos to them. They deserve it. A great Sunday visit to Roswell, New Mexico to see our portfolio company Sceye's most recent HAPS (High Altitude Platform Station) prior to their launch. Sceye is building a new layer of infrastructure that will reside up in the Stratosphere at around 65k feet, where there's less wind and weather but where you're 1800x closer to earth than a geostationary satellite. This company is led by a truly exception entrepreneur named Mikkel Frandsen who has dedicated his life to public impact. His previous ventures have focused on creating and distributing bed nets for the treatment of Malaria and where he just sold his billionth bed net. Anther venture, called LifeStraw, uses a proprietary water filtration technology to provide clean drinking water. The company while now known for their popular straw sold on Amazon, was actually started to address Guinea Worm infections and where they've been incredibly successful. The world has gone from 3.5 million cases of Guinea Worm in 1986 to 2 so far this year and the infection is on the cusp of being eradicated. This will be only the second time humanity has done this, with Small Pox being the first instance. It's been a great year for Sceye having had three successful flights. They're now well on their way to being the World's first commercial HAPS to scale. This should enable them to provide compelling new earth observation (fire detection, pollution detection...) and telecommunication services (5G direct to handsets). We're excited to have been Sceye's first outside investor and to have led their $62m financing and joined their board. Most importantly, were excited about the great opportunities in front of Sceye and their potential to help move humanity forward.
