Overrepresentation of Black and Indigenous youth in foster care is caused by racist historical practices that show up in American society today. Black and Indigenous communities have been under-resourced for many years but with support and allyship, we can keep more youth in foster care connected to the bonds of family and community that foster resilience, healing and brighter futures. The EMBRACE Project is all about lifting up our Black youth in foster care who face unique challenges and systemic barriers. By providing resources, mentoring, and advocacy, we aim to create fair opportunities and make sure these young people have the support they need to thrive. Visit embrace.kidsave.org to find resources and raise awareness.

Kidsave® is about creating change for children the world has forgotten.
About us
At Kidsave, we are driven by the simple belief that every child, everywhere, deserves to grow up with the support of a loving, caring family. For older kids in foster care, scared of aging out alone, this can sometimes feel like an impossible wish. We’re here to change that. With your support, our innovative programs both here and abroad give older kids in foster care a voice and a choice in who they get to know and who will ultimately become their forever family. And with an estimated 8 million children living in institutional care worldwide and more than 440,000 children in foster care here in the U.S., the need has never been greater. Join us in becoming a champion for older kids in care. Spread the word, lend a hand, become a mentor, a host, or adoptive family and let’s give all kids the chance to thrive in loving, supportive homes.

There is nothing we love to see more than our Kidsave families thriving! Thanks for sharing, Stephen McCall, and for all you do! Visit https://lnkd.in/eW8nVxT9 to read how Stephen first met his two sons through Kidsave's Summer Miracles program. #kidsave #adoption #adoptionislove
For the past week, I’ve been in Spain supporting my kid’s dreams to play soccer at a higher level. This photo is a few years apart but the most recent was taken a few days ago after Julian (younger son) finished his first of 2 weeks for his pro trial . My son’s smiles is the reason I make bold moves without asking anyone’s permission to dream big. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share what’s the next big adventure and move for this non traditional family. But everything I do is disruptive, non traditional, and out the box crazy like when my current employer believed we could launch a rocket in 24 hours…and guess what we crushed it! August is going to be a time of transition. My older son’s soccer season starts in Spain and Julian and I will figure it out. Stay Tuned! #family #adoption #kidsave #international #spain #laliga

We are so pleased to hear that the historic bill to end child marriage in Sierra Leona has passed! This bill is a crucial step in the right direct for national protection for children in Sierra Leone and will hopefully pave the way for further protections for young women and girls in the near future. Read more about the bill here: https://lnkd.in/eXPJq_Qm Kidsave has been working in Sierra Leone since 2010, reuniting children living in orphanages with extended family and kin and finding adoptive families for those without living relatives. Since 2010, thousands of children have been separated from their relatives and kin after losing one or both parents to EBOLA, civil war, or COVID-19. Visit https://lnkd.in/e78URnQX to learn about our reunification and community edification work. #kidsave #sierraleone #news #reunification

Children are not targets. Today, our hearts are not just heavy; they are broken with grief and seething with outrage as we learn about the horrific attack on Kyiv’s largest children’s hospital. These innocent children, who represent Ukraine's most vulnerable, are already grappling with hardships daily. Their lives, education, and prospects are hanging in the balance. To see these children trapped in this brutal conflict, their lives abruptly halted, their dreams and aspirations destroyed, is heartbreaking. It is a moral failing of the highest order that their suffering isn't being urgently addressed. These vile attacks have decimated families and cut short the lives of children, healthcare workers, and innocent civilians. We call on U.S. lawmakers and leaders of the international community to take immediate, decisive action to prioritize the safety and protection of these children. The children of Ukraine cannot wait. -Randi Thompson, CEO and Co-Founder, Kidsave #standwithukraine
