Since 1955, the NKF of Michigan, Inc. (NKFM) has led the fight against life-threatening chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney disease. We have enhanced the lives of many Michigan residents through our prevention programs and patient services. Our efforts have also changed legislation, ensured quality care for patients and advanced medical knowledge. We have informed the public about kidney and urological diseases and increased awareness of the critical need for organ and tissue donations. The mission of the NKFM is prevent kidney disease and improve the quality of life for those living with it.

Our team was out in full force connecting with the community, sharing vital health information, and celebrating local produce. We loved discussing the importance of nutrition and how incorporating more fresh produce into your diet can make a big difference in managing and preventing chronic kidney disease.

June Highlights for NKFM! June was a busy month for NKFM staff. Here's what we've been up to: - Attended the Pride/Juneteenth/Diversity Fair at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center - Participated in the Ludington Senior Expo - Conducted kidney screenings at the Henry Ford Health Center in Dearborn - Held our first in-person Mandarin PATH workshop at Greenwood Villa Apartments in Westland (previously, our Mandarin PATH workshops were virtual) And much more!

This vital community event provided Flint residents with free health screenings and invaluable resources to improve overall health and wellness.
