The position, which also serves as division director of School Technology Services within the KDE Office of Education Technology, provides leadership for the technology needs of Kentucky’s 171 school districts, along with the Kentucky School for the Deaf, the Kentucky School for the Blind and the state’s area technology centers. February marks Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month in Kentucky and across the country! This month, we will highlight the experiences of students both past and present along with educators in readying students for careers and college. Today’s video features the Shelby County Area Technology Center dentistry program. This year’s events include a CTE Showcase at the Kentucky Department of Education office in Frankfort on Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, featuring exhibits from 13 different CTE pathways.

NEW: Todd Allen, the general counsel for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), began serving the agency as deputy commissioner in a new role announced on Oct 16. His appointment to serve in dual roles as general counsel and deputy commissioner was made by Interim Commissioner of Education Robin Fields Kinney.
