In celebration of Australian Space Week, the #KBR team attended The Andy Thomas Space Foundation‘s Australian Space Forum in Adelaide.   The Forum is an opportunity for industry, including KBR’s Space Program Manager, Liz Pearce and Chief Technology Advisor, Paul Solomon to generate ideas, share information about emerging technologies and network with influential space sector leaders – including Australian Astronaut, Katherine Bennell-Pegg.   Nigel Doyle, Principal Consultant at KBR’s Frazer-Nash Consultancy was also a Guest Judge at the Makers Empire Kids in Space Student Showcase – where teams were challenged to use their design thinking to share solutions on how to help astronauts to work and live in space and use space technologies to design something that will help solve a problem on Earth.   #TeamBehindTheMission

#KBR is proud to partner with the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), an initiative aimed at creating pathways for underrepresented groups to succeed in STEM careers within the chemical industry. KBR will sponsor two scholars over the next four years, joining a growing list of organizations who together have raised more than $35 million to support over 700 students. KBR’s blue ammonia technology has been selected by Shell for the Blue Horizons low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia project in Duqm, Oman. The facility will use KBR’s leading ammonia synthesis loop technology to deliver cost-competitive, low-carbon intensity ammonia. Under the contract, #KBR will provide licensed proprietary engineering design for the 3,000 metric tons per day ammonia plant, utilizing hydrogen produced by Shell’s Blue Hydrogen technology. At the invitation of the UK Defence and Business Secretaries, KBR was honoured to meet with President Zelenskyy in the UK this week. We joined industry partners to discuss the next phase of British companies' contributions to the defence and reconstruction of Ukraine. KBR has been intimately involved in understanding and shaping support to Ukraine - being one of a small number of businesses to join the UK's first set of trade missions to the country in the past 9 months. #KBR has been awarded an advisory consulting contract by Kuwait Oil Company to develop a nationwide masterplan for producing 17GW of renewables and 25GW of green hydrogen by 2050.
