Every refugee deserves to dream, and at Karam, we offer a safe space for them to dream, learn, and grow! We engage the kids in various fun and creative activities. They choose their favorite animals for face drawing, and we photograph them against a jungle background to make them feel like they are on a wild adventure. They also participate in an automata activity, where they make planes out of cut wood pieces, learning how to assemble and decorate their creations. Outside the container, we organize dancing and movement activities, where the kids enjoy various fun and energetic exercises and games. These photos capture their joy as they explore, create, and build lasting friendships at Uzumdal camp. #KaramFoundation #SyrianRefugees #CampActivites

This project was created by Mulham in Devices for Good studio. It’s a game board that aims to change the stereotypical image of Syrian refugees by introducing the rich culture and history of Syria, showcasing their resilience and ability to change their reality even in the face of hardships. The game board features a map of Syria divided into its provinces. Each province highlights notable archaeological sites and various religious symbols distributed across the map to represent Syria's cultural and religious diversity. This interactive design allows players to explore and appreciate the deep-rooted heritage and coexistence within Syria, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for the Syrian people. Mulham's project is just one example of the incredible things our students create in our educational programs. Reports of renewed fear and uncertainty among Syrian refugees in Turkiye and Lebanon are deeply concerning. The basic right to safety and the ability to rebuild lives with dignity are fundamental for everyone. In recent weeks, the situation has escalated, with alarming incidents of violence and hate crimes targeting Syrian refugees. Many Syrians are living in fear, afraid to leave their homes due to the threat of harassment and violence. Karam Foundation stands firmly with all displaced communities who have been forced to flee their homes and loved ones. Our hearts are with those enduring these challenging times. Meet Abdullah, a graduate from Karam House. Abdullah Samie, originally from Idlib, Syria, now lives in Reyhanli, Türkiye. Currently, Abdullah is finishing his high school education with a strong interest in software engineering. Karam House has been pivotal in his educational journey, providing support, resources, and a sense of community. One of Abdullah’s notable projects was the “Tree of Knowledge” from the Gathering Lights Studio. In Gathering Lights, Students design innovative lighting fixtures to foster connection and communication, drawing inspiration from their local environments and cultures while taking a break from smart devices. Through his project (pictured above) Abdullah chose to introduce Islamic culture worldwide through light. Graduating from Karam House has been a significant achievement for Abdullah, and he is grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and sharing ideas within this supportive community.
