Join Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) Association of Health Care Facilities/Ky. Center for Assisted Living for Methods of Instruction Nurse Aide Training in August! This train-the-trainer course will we held in-person. The course will help prepare eligible nurses to become instructors for the Medicaid Nurse Aide Training Program. It will provide classroom and demonstration experiences to assist the nurse in becoming a better teacher of nurse aides. The course will cover philosophy, course preparation, learning styles of students, areas of knowledge, performance and training techniques, use of lesson plans, instructional methods, and use of instructional aids. There will also be an in-depth discussion of how to use the nurse aide curriculum developed by the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services. Additional information includes a review of laws, regulations and procedures necessary to conduct a training course in Kentucky. Their facility was one of five in Kentucky to receive the 2024 Silver — Achievement in Quality Award from AHCA/NCAL Keep up the great work, and thank you for letting us visit! The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) team continued our travels yesterday with a trip to Morning Pointe Senior Living in Richmond. We took an incredible tour of the community and met several amazing residents, accompanied by Representatives Deanna Frazier Gordon and Bill Wesley. Thank you to the Morning Pointe staff for your warm welcome and to the representatives for taking the time to join us!

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) staff finished the day on Wednesday in Corbin at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center! They enjoyed a warm welcome from the staff and engaging discussions with the facility’s leadership team. Thank you to everyone who showed such wonderful hospitality during our visit!

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) enjoyed our 3rd stop of the day yesterday at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center. Our team appreciated the tour of the facility and opportunity to connect with staff and residents. We even met another sweet therapy dog!
