Earlier this morning, 150+ attendees joined us at the Florida State College at Jacksonville Advanced Technology Center in downtown Jacksonville, where the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), City of Jacksonville (COJ), and Groundwork Jacksonville (GWJAX), in partnership with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), hosted an Industry Roundtable for the Emerald Trail project. This project, made possible by a $147 million Reconnecting Communities grant, will fund the design and construction of fifteen miles of the 30-mile trail and linear park system, connecting fourteen neighborhoods and downtown Jacksonville. Today's gathering offered the region's best & brightest a chance to: • Hear firsthand from the JTA, COJ, GWJAX, and ACEC about this landmark project. • Engage in meaningful discussions about how we can achieve accelerated project delivery. • Provide us with valuable insights and feedback to shape the future of Jacksonville’s Urban Core. These conversations and shared knowledge will allow us to look ahead to the future of Jacksonville, as we unveil the plans for the remaining segments of the Emerald Trail. This project, made possible by a $147 million Reconnecting Communities grant, will fund the design and construction of fifteen miles of the 30-mile trail and linear park system, connecting fourteen neighborhoods and downtown Jacksonville. Our goal is ambitious: to deliver all five segments by September 2031, and the JTA will continue to depend on and lean into the presence, perspective, and expertise of our partners and the community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their time and insights. For more information on the Emerald Trail: https://lnkd.in/eyncFC7b #JAX #EmeraldTrail #PublicWorks
