Joint Office of Energy and Transportation
Government Administration
Accelerating an electrified transportation system that is convenient, reliable, affordable, accessible, and equitable.
About us
The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation was created through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to facilitate collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Joint Office will align resources and expertise across the two departments toward leveraged outcomes. The office will be a critical component in the implementation of the BIL, providing support and expertise to a multitude of programs that seek to deploy a network of electric vehicle chargers, zero-emission fueling infrastructure, and zero-emission transit and school buses. The scope of the Joint Office will continue to evolve as directed by both departments.

Thanks to all the dedicated team members who made the Transportation and Climate Symposium possible! Don't forget to check out the symposium recordings at https://lnkd.in/eYxAY4WH as well as the report.
Congrats to the USDOT team (in particular, Ann Shikany, Liya Rechtman, and Gretchen Goldman, PhD) for throwing an inspiring Transportation and Climate Symposium! It’s exciting to be part of an Administration that’s making historic levels of investments in communities across the country that help make it possible to take fewer/shorter trips and support the transition to clean mobility options. Gabe Klein and I had a blast working with the Mayors of City of Madison, WI, City of Cleveland - City Hall, City of Mesa, and City of Lincoln – Lincoln, Nebraska to highlight climate leadership at the local level, and I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss the emerging potential of urban freight and last mile delivery as a decarbonization strategy (thanks to my panel experts Laura MacNeil, AICP, CPM, Peter Schenkman, and Victor Bonett). Be sure to check out USDOT’s newest report to Congress that highlights our progress on decarbonizing the U.S. transportation network: https://lnkd.in/d3mtawxg

Congratulations 🎉 to Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) grant recipient, the City of Mesa, for taking steps to make EV charging stations more accessible and convenient for all its residents. The city is seeking industry guidance and best practices with a Request for Information (RFI) to learn from companies about best practices, innovative approaches, and key considerations in deploying a public EV charging network. The RFI responds to a $11.8 million award through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s CFI Discretionary Grant Program to add at least 48 new vehicle charging ports to areas throughout the City with a focus on increasing stations in disadvantaged communities. Find the RFI and more information at https://vendor.mesaaz.gov/ View all CFI recipients: https://lnkd.in/ev8h3sYn
