This summer, Johnson County’s summer internship program has provided valuable experiences to interns across its various departments, agencies and offices. A pilot program aimed not only to offer hands-on learning, but also to equip interns with valuable skills and insights that they can carry into their academic and professional pursuits. Throughout the summer, Johnson County organized a series of events tailored to enhance the internship experience. This included an introduction lunch, small group discussions, mock interviews, tours of county facilities and more. To the interns, we extend our warmest wishes for a successful academic year ahead. We commend their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to learning and growing professionally. 😁

Johnson County Government collected 219,719 pounds, or more than 109 tons, of food donations and cash to benefit local food pantries during the 2024 Feed the Need campaign! 4,283 pounds of food donations, as well as $53,859 in cash donations (equating to 215,436 pounds). Three Feed the Need recognitions were given out during the July 25 Board of County Commissioners meeting: 🔹 The Chairman’s Award for collecting the most food: Department of Corrections 🔹 The Commissioners’ Award for the best average per person collection: Treasury, Taxation and Vehicles 🔹 The Rick Beckwith Cup Award for having the highest percent of increased collections from the previous year: Developmental Supports
