IQ Fiber has completed our Jacksonville Phase 1 build of 60,000 homes. Less than three years ago, we put forth a plan to connect fiber to Jacksonville residents who did not have that option-- and we are excited to announce that the first phase of that plan is complete. So, on to our next chapter! IQ Fiber is excited to announce we are expanding to the Jacksonville neighborhoods of Arlington and Fort Caroline and to the St. Johns County areas of Fruit Cove and Ponte Vedra. These new builds will be a welcome addition to Arlington and Ft. Caroline, two established neighborhoods located east of downtown Jacksonville. Since IQ Fiber was founded in 2022, residents of these neighborhoods have consistently expressed high interest, and we are proud to extend our network to them. The expansion into Fruit Cove and Nocatee will serve homes adjacent to some of our private communities in the area. We also have plans to extend our network in the San Pablo and Intercoastal communities. Speaking of private communities, IQ Fiber is now serving over 100 private communities in Jacksonville, with many more lighting up in the next few months. We have grown to 140 employees across Jacksonville and Gainesville, and we are currently hiring across several departments. Our Gainesville Fiberhood Launch party exceeded our wildest expectations. Residents began lining up well ahead of our starting time, and our employees were kept busy signing up people (and their neighbors) for installations. Many of these Gainesville residents have never had fiber-optic internet, and they will soon be free from slow speeds and unnecessary data caps. They also appreciate a good party. We found a great local venue (One Love Cafe) and hired a great local band (The Medicine Show), and residents jammed out to the sounds of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. We knew all along that fast-growing Alachua County had a need for fiber, but we have been blown away by the response so far. In short, this great Florida city is going to keep us busy for a long time. Reminder: We continue to have open positions in Gainesville and at our Jacksonville headquarters. April 29 was officially signing day at IQ Fiber Gainesville. Continued education is important in any job, and we are fortunate to have employees who strive to perfect their knowledge of fiber-optic internet. One of our customer technical support reps, Brendan Bates, took the initiative to tackle the CompTIA Network+ exam -- and he passed. This certification shows he can do extensive troubleshooting and configuration of hard-wired and wireless networks. "I took this certification to not only show my knowledge and efficiency in this field, but to prove to myself that I can continue down a path of whatever I set my mind to," Brendan said. "I plan to further my IT career, and hopefully this certification will allow me to further advance my IT career." We told Brendan's story on our Facebook page, and it was one of the highest-engaging posts of the year so far. One customer said: "I know the work that it takes to earn this certification. Good job."
