ABI is the largest business network in the state and has a long legacy of advocating for a competitive business climate in Iowa. As members of ABI, business leaders are able to help influence public policy, engage with other corporate leaders and learn from experts on how to address the top challenges facing Iowa businesses. ABI's mission is clear: To foster a favorable business, economic, governmental and social climate within the State of Iowa so that our citizens have the opportunity to enjoy the highest possible quality of life.

One hundred years ago today McKee, Voorhees & Sease began operation in an office in downtown Des Moines. Today, we are Iowa's largest boutique intellectual property law firm serving clients in 160 countries. Our 26 attorneys and patent professionals stand on the shoulders of founder Talbert Dick; named partners Bruce W. McKee (MVS Tenure: 1964-2023), Michael G. Voorhees (MVS Tenure: 1970-2012), and Edmund J. Sease (MVS Tenure: 1973-2022); and many others vital to protecting innovators. In 1985, Pat Sweeney, one of the first female patent attorneys in Iowa, began practicing as a patent attorney at McKee, Voorhees & Sease.
