  • RAGBRAI DAY 7🚲 Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center (Previously Great River Medical Center) | Burlington We're wishing all bikers a safe final leg as they end their journey in Burlington! Our firm has had the privilege of forming connections within this community for over 40 years. Our architect, Brian Sanderman, feels honored to have developed such amazing relationships within Burlington for over two decades, particularly through his work at Great River Medical Center. If you are ever in town, Brian recommends grabbing a bite to eat at Martini's! He said, "One of my most memorable dining experiences is at Martini's, not just because INVISION was involved in its design, but due to the fantastic food and the amazing view overlooking the Mississippi River."

  • RAGBRAI DAY 6🚲 Henry County Health Center | Mt. Pleasant, Iowa Today's ride ends in Mt. Pleasant! Our architect, Brian Sanderman, worked on many projects at Henry County Health Center and loves the town's beautiful square and classic car nights. INVISION has collaborated with HCHC to develop a master plan, including a new Energy Center, simplified wayfinding, and expanded surgery and outpatient departments, all designed for future growth. The first phase of the master plan focused on a new surgery addition with natural light and state-of-the-art facilities.

  • RAGBRAI Day 6🚲 Indian Hills Community College | Ottumwa, Iowa Only one day left of RAGBRAI! Today's route starts in Ottumwa, where we have a performing arts building renovation and addition project underway at Indian Hills Community College. One of our architects, Mark Ramirez, shared, "Something I love about Ottumwa is the small-town Iowa feel that it has." During visits, Mark and another one of our architects, Bill Futrell, started a tradition of eating at a local BBQ restaurant, Warehouse Barbecue, and then stopping in Pella on the way home to grab some sweet treats from Jaarsma Bakery. These experiences connect us to the communities we work in and make our projects even more special. We are grateful for the strong ties we have in all the communities we serve!

  • RAGBRAI DAY 5🚲 Monroe County Hospital & Clinics | Albia, Iowa INVISION has had the pleasure of collaborating with Monroe County Hospital & Clinics over the past seven years on numerous projects, including the expansion of the Rural Health Clinic, Specialty Clinic, Rehab, and Infusion areas, as well as an MRI addition and Isolation Room renovation. A highlight of this collaboration was our innovative approach to community and staff engagement. We created a cardboard mock-up of the hospital, allowing users to walk through and experience the scale and flow firsthand. This hands-on method enabled us to gather valuable feedback, ensuring the design met the needs of both the hospital staff and the community. It was truly special to see the community actively participating in shaping their healthcare environment.

  • RAGBRAI DAY 5🚲 Knoxville Hospital & Clinics | Knoxville, Iowa Today’s RAGBRAI route starts bikers in Knoxville, where we've had the opportunity to make a significant impact with Knoxville Hospital and Clinics over the past few years. Phase 1, completed in January 2024, included a Specialty Clinic & Infusion Center addition, a lab relocation, and an administration addition. Phase 2, currently under construction, is a complete renovation of their Emergency Department. KHC has truly embraced patient-centered design, enhanced patient experiences, and community well-being. The goal was to provide services close to home where their patients are comfortable and do not have to drive hours to receive treatment. One of the unique things we did at KHC was form a patient advisory committee to gather insights, leading to thoughtful design features like flexible spaces, outdoor views, and accessible staff. All of these elements create a healing environment tailored to patients' needs. Swipe through to see renderings of our transformative designs, and stay tuned for final photos later this summer!

  • RAGBRAI DAY 4🚲 Indianola High School | Indianola, Iowa Today’s RAGBRAI route takes bikers through Indianola, where we're thrilled to be working on the new Indianola High School! This project, which began in 2020 with a public campaign and a successful bond vote in the Fall of 2022, embodies proud traditions and endless possibilities for the community of Indianola. Phase 1 of construction kicked off in April 2024. Our PreK-12 leader, Laura Peterson, AIA, ALEP, proudly calls Indianola home. Here’s what she has to say: “Indianola is my home, so it has been extra special to work here. I've loved sharing my community with the INVISION team. Indianola is a place where people know your name, face, kids, and family and genuinely support each other. Participating in a public campaign to support a major project to reimagine the next 50 years of high school was impactful for my own family, kids, neighbors, and friends. The overwhelming support at every stage—from alumni, business leaders, teachers, kids, and community leaders—was so amazing. I met so many people who are now lifelong friends. I'm excited to see the project come to life over the next few years." Her advice: come see Indianola for the day, not just during the balloon festival! Have a coffee at Savor the Rise, shop at Feed+Foster, LulaBelle, and Little Shed on Salem, enjoy lunch at Brickhouse Tavern and stay for a drink at Local Vine or ice cream at The Outside Scoop. Stay tuned for more insights from our interior designer, McKaylee Palmer, about the innovative design of the school and the design process!

  • RAGBRAI DAY 4🚲 Madison County Hospital | Winterset, Iowa Today, our RAGBRAI peddlers are kicking off their day in Winterset, where our intern architect, Matt Cramer, has spent a lot of time working with Madison County Hospital. Since 2021, Matt has been deeply involved with their Facility Master Plan, Phase 1 design and construction, and now, seeing the project come to life through construction. He's even attended a few golf tournaments and consumed a few ice creams along the way. If you’re in Winterset, be sure to check out some of his favorite local bites!

  • RAGBRAI DAY 3🚲 Warren Opera House | Greenfield, Iowa Laura Peterson, AIA, ALEP, an architect on our team, captured the essence of Greenfield beautifully: "The thing that I will always remember the most about working in Greenfield, Iowa, is, hands down, the people. These are individuals deeply committed to the long-term success and vitality of their community who refused to let an opera house sit empty. They envisioned a future where it would become a vibrant community center. The kindness and genuineness of the people we encountered, from the volunteer board and local supporters to those just passing by on the street, were truly remarkable."

  • RAGBRAI DAY 3 🚲 Today, bikers will be rolling through Greenfield, a community recently impacted by a devastating tornado in May. We've had the privilege of working on several projects in this resilient town, and it's heart-wrenching to witness the aftermath of such events. David Hofmann, an architect on the Adair County Hospital project, shared that the hospital, while still standing, suffered extensive damage and had to close temporarily. Despite the challenges, the heart of Greenfield remains strong. As we continue to support the hospital’s reopening this fall, we are inspired by the community’s determination and resilience. #GreenfieldStrong #RAGBRAI2024

  • As RAGBRAI rolls through Iowa, we’re excited to celebrate why we do what we do and the incredible rural communities we get to serve! From river to river, our projects are a testament to the vibrant towns and amazing people we’ve had the privilege to work with. Check out the RAGBRAI route to see how our journey intersects with yours, and join us for a week-long celebration of community spirit! We’ll be sharing stories, inspiring quotes, and snapshots of our experiences and the wonderful people we've met along the way. Enjoy the ride as we embrace the true spirit of IOWA. #RAGBRAI2024 #IowaPride
