Yesterday, the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) published a paper on an approach to macroprudential policy for investment funds. ICI fully supports the CBI’s perspective that the funds industry should not be regulated by bank-like principles. However, it remains clear that the CBI continues to see investment funds as a potential source of systemic risk.
