Recent data reports have delivered mixed messages to market watchers. On the bright side, US industrial production rose more than expected, and UK stocks showed strength in the face of some sticky inflation. But new projections showed that the US deficit is increasing, and rising crude oil prices could have an impact on goods inflation. In Kristina Hooper's latest #WeeklyMarketCompass, she breaks down what this means for US and global markets. https://inves.co/4br5xqV

In honor of #PrideMonth, we're spotlighting members of Invesco's Pride Network (IPN)! Throughout June, IPN is celebrating the LGBTQIA+ identities that enrich our communities and brighten our world. With this year's theme being "Stronger Together — Diversity Creates Community," we've asked members what IPN means to them. Meet Heather Muise who is based in our Charlottetown office in Canada and is currently a Compliance Associate on our E-Comms Surveillance Team. “As an open member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, finding acceptance and a voice can be tough. Joining the IPN changed that for me. It’s given me a supportive community and a platform to be heard. Thanks to Invesco and the IPN, I can proudly embrace my identity, both personally and professionally." #LifeatInvesco

Western central banks are on different timelines for rate cuts, French political uncertainty is leading to divergence within Europe, and emerging market elections have shown different preferences among voters. In Kristina Hooper's latest #WeeklyMarketCompass, she breaks down what's driving these differences across the world. ▪️ While the Bank of Canada and the European Central Bank cut interest rates in June, the Federal Reserve decided to keep rates steady and suggested it is comfortable sitting at high levels for as long as it takes to feel confident that there will not be a resurgence of #inflation. ▪️ While the European Union is in the throes of political uncertainty, the UK appears to have significant political certainty with the Labour party leading by a wide margin in the polls leading up to the July 4 election. ▪️ In the last several weeks, we got #election surprises in Mexico, South Africa, and India. South African and Indian voters showed decreased support for their incumbents, while Mexican voters showed increased support for theirs. https://inves.co/3xEpLzE

Juneteenth holds profound significance in American history. On June 19, 1865, two and half years after the Emancipation Proclamation became law, Union Army General Gordon Granger proclaimed freedom for enslaved people in Texas, which was the last state of the confederacy with institutional slavery. In 1980, Texas designated Juneteenth as a state holiday, setting a precedent that other states later followed. In 2021, Juneteenth was made a federal holiday. To help commemorate this day, the Invesco Black Professionals Network (IBPN) has organized a number of events and volunteer opportunities, including our fourth annual children's book drive. Books purchased by Invesco employees will be donated to local charities, including Ronald McDonald House Charities, Atlanta Children's Day Shelter, and City of Refuge. The books feature messages of inclusion and diverse characters, and are purchased from local Black-owned bookstores, including Brave and Kind Books in Atlanta (Decatur) and Olds Cool General Store in Toronto. Thank you to IBPN, Invesco Cares and our employees for their ongoing commitment to advance and celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in our communities. #juneteenth

Since our 2024 outlook was published late last year, growth has remained considerably more resilient and inflation more stubborn than we anticipated. The degree of divergence across economies has also increased, with inflation taking different paths in major economies. In our midyear outlook update, we focus on the trajectory of inflation and how central bankers around the world are weighing the balance of risks as they begin to cut interest rates.
