💭 Imagine if we could end preventable stillbirths and provide respectful, supportive care to all women and families after stillbirth. The first ever Global Stillbirth Advocacy and Implementation Guide is now out! Developed by the International Stillbirth Alliance and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, with UNICEF, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the USAID, and major funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, this action-focussed guide brings together technical resources and practical guidance for stillbirth advocacy and programme planning at national and subnational levels. Including case studies from a wide range of geographical contexts, it showcases what can be achieved in improving care along the maternal and newborn health care continuum, including care to prevent stillbirths and ensure quality bereavement care after a baby is stillborn. We drive global change for the prevention of stillbirth and neonatal death & bereavement support for all those affected
About us
The International Stillbirth Alliance (ISA) is a membership organization uniting bereaved parents and other family members, health professionals and researchers to drive global change for the prevention of stillbirth and neonatal death and bereavement support for all those affected. At ISA we seek out partnerships on every continent to realize our mission of ending preventable deaths and ensuring respectful care. We work with our member organizations to connect people locally across the globe and thereby improve standards of care within their region. By unifying the work being done in research, clinical practice and communities, we are helping reduce the unacceptably high loss of lives through stillbirth. We support rigorous scientific research to ensure effective action for stillbirth and newborn death prevention and bereavement support. For over 15 years, we have hosted the only global conference that is focused on stillbirth prevention and bereavement support.
