A visit to Milwaukee to explore the economic development of coastal communities would be incomplete without meeting with representatives from Milwaukee Riverkeeper, a science-based NGO advocating passionately for water quality, wildlife habitats, and land management. Thank you to the Executive Director, Jennifer Bolger, and Cheryl Nenn for your invaluable insights on this topic. We are also very grateful to Juan Alsace, former U.S. Consul General to Toronto and President of the Milwaukee Riverkeeper Board, for sharing his perspective on the pivotal role of NGOs in driving positive change. This meeting was made possible thanks to the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program. #exchangeourworld.

The future is built today. As part of the #IVLP initiative, leaders from Papua New Guinea met with Commissioner Lafayette Crump and his team at the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee. Together, they explored strategies for advancing economic development in coastal communities and discussed various housing initiatives in Milwaukee. International Visitor Leadership Program is the U.S. Department of State's premier professional exchange initiative, which our Institute proudly facilitates in Wisconsin. #exchangeourworld
