IAAP Mission The mission of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) is to define, promote and improve the accessibility profession globally through networking, education and certification in order to enable the creation of accessible products, content, services, and environments. IAAP Strategic Goals Association Development Develop and fully execute a complete governance model to ensure the success of the association both financially and in meeting the overall goals for its membership. Individual Professional Development Develop and implement activities, including a certification program, to enable professionals working in accessibility and those interested in knowing more about accessibility to influence and implement accessibility within any organization. Organizational Development Develop resources and programs by which organizations, corporations and government entities can learn and grow their accessibility strategies to increase overall access and opportunities for persons with disabilities. Community Development Develop a program to make connections amongst the broader accessibility community and beyond to reach the goal of supporting existing efforts and grow the numbers within the profession.

EastSide Arts Festival Champions Accessibility and Inclusivity! This year's EastSide Arts Festival made great strides towards inclusivity by incorporating British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation into more events. Running for 11 days from July 25, the festival featured over 60 accessible and inclusive events showcasing the talents of local artists, writers, and performers across east Belfast. Key Highlights: 1. BSL Interpretation: Enhanced accessibility with BSL-integrated events like the Walking the Maritime Mile and Beyond tour and Dragtastic Cabaret. 2. Art Displays and Workshops: Hosted at the EastSide Visitor Centre Gallery and other venues. 3. Live Performances: Featuring acts at Cregagh Sports Club, Malone Rugby Club, and The Picture House at Strand Arts Centre. 4.
