Better health. Better life.

About us

Resting in the heart of western Pennsylvania, Indiana offers the perfect blend of history and progress, industry and scenery, culture and charm. When Indiana Regional Medical Center first welcomed the public in November of 1914, it was a 40-bed facility with 13 private rooms. From the time of its opening, the hospital's mission has been: to serve the community with quality, progressive, compassionate patient care. Over the years, this nonprofit institution has grown to become the Indiana County's sole full-service health care provider. Throughout its many renovations, expansions in services and continued advancements in knowledge and technology, Indiana Regional Medical Center has remained unchanged in its commitment to serve the community.

IRMC Summer Pre-Med interns kicked off their 8 week program this morning with an introduction from Steve Wolfe, IRMC President & CEO. While at IRMC, these college students will get to shadow with physicians in the outpatient setting, inpatient, and operating room. This program, under the direction of Dan Clark MD, gives students an opportunity to see "a day in the life of a doctor" and expand their knowledge of the medical field to prepare them for medical school application.

  • Congratulations, Bonnie Moreau, for being chosen to receive the 2024 Marge Scheeren Volunteer Service Award! Bonnie, who was recruited by Marge Scheeren, has been a volunteer at IRMC since 1989 and has served in a variety of areas over the years, including the Surgical Services and ICU waiting rooms, sorting the incoming mail, and assisting with special projects as needed. She was nominated for exhibiting all the core values that the award entails. Her fellow volunteer who nominated Bonnie wrote, “She has an open mind and heart when conversing with visitors, fellow volunteers and IRMC employees. She is always reliably prompt. Now, as she probably has always done, she enters the front door with a beautiful smile while pleasantly greeting anyone she encounters.” Bonnie was presented this award at the annual IRMC Volunteer Recognition luncheon held on April 18. The Marge Scheeren Volunteer Service Award program was established in 2017 and recognizes individuals who exemplify compassion and commitment to serving others through volunteering at Indiana Regional Medical Center. The nominee should be a volunteer at IRMC who models IRMC’s core values – Integrity, Respect, Compassion, and Excellence and exhibits the following key traits: Humble Service, Sincere Kindness, Genuine Compassion, Heartfelt Sympathy, and a Cheerful, Positive Attitude.

Construction is underway on Indiana Regional Medical Center’s new free-standing Behavioral Health Hospital! Located on IRMC’s campus, the new 31,000 SF facility will have 44 beds that support general (adults), geriatric, and adolescent behavior health patients.   Clearing of the site began late in 2023, and since then, foundations and concrete slabs have been completed. Wall panel installation is rapidly progressing, and trusses are being set to get the building under the roof. The building's projected completion is Fall 2024; we can't wait to share more. #LGAhealthcare #healthcaredesign #architecture #construction
