    CEO & Founder, Imprint

Imprint has already grown 100% this year but we have room to grow even faster. To do that, I need some help telling our product story and articulating why our combination of a technology company and modern credit card company is so unique and delivers such great outcomes for the brands that partner with us. I'm looking for an entrepreneurial product marketer to collaborate closely with on this. Please share any profiles that might be a fit. https://lnkd.in/eSNQ_2Qk

At Imprint, we've built our payments platform from the ground up. Delivering rewards to our partners' best customers is core to our mission of creating an incredible user experience. In order to hit our expectations of lightning-fast reads and robust record-keeping, our team designed an optimized DynamoDB table schema and employed optimistic locking to maintain data integrity. Women Leading the Way at Imprint: Spotlight on Rohini Patil Our journey at Imprint is fueled by innovation, and at the forefront of this journey is Rohini Patil, our Head of Engineering. Rohini's leadership and technical brilliance have been pivotal in driving our engineering team to develop cutting-edge solutions that keep Imprint at the leading edge of our industry. Her approach to problem-solving and project management has fostered an environment of creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence. Rohini's dedication to mentoring emerging talent and promoting diversity within the tech field has enhanced our team's capabilities and inspired a culture of inclusivity and continuous learning. As we spotlight Rohini Patil, join us in celebrating her remarkable contributions to Imprint's success and the tech community. #WomenInTech #EngineeringExcellence #Leadership What trends do you believe will shape the future of engineering in your industry? In light of current macro-economic trends, efficiency has become a paramount concern for leaders across industries. We're intensifying our focus on data-driven decision-making and optimizing our development processes to maximize impact while minimizing effort. Remote work has become the norm in our industry, offering opportunities for diversity and individual empowerment. However, fostering innovation in this environment presents challenges. While tools for effective communication are plentiful, cultivating a culture of shared context and learning is essential for successful collaboration in asynchronous mode. We're reevaluating our processes to prioritize articulating ideas, summarizing discussions, and integrating insights into our operational framework. The engineering landscape is undergoing significant technological transformations, particularly in the realm of AI and ML. We're navigating these shifts by striking a balance between AI innovation and ensuring robust data hygiene and protection measures. This approach is crucial for driving advancements in this space while delivering tangible ROI. As a woman in a leadership role in tech, what has been your approach to mentorship and diversity in the engineering space? I strongly advocate against implementing separate processes or isolated learning activities for women in corporate environments. Diversity and inclusion require a holistic approach embedded in every aspect of company culture and operations. Diversity is not just a checkbox but a fundamental principle guiding our innovation and collaboration efforts. My mentorship approach focuses on fostering a growth mindset and facilitating meaningful connections. By encouraging women to learn from diverse experiences and leaders, they can craft careers that align with their unique strengths and personalities. In doing so, they become catalysts for change within organizations, driving the diversity initiatives needed for growth and innovation.

Women Leading the Way at Imprint: Spotlight on Kathleen Leonik As we continue to celebrate the remarkable women at the helm of Imprint, today we shine a spotlight on Kathleen Leonik, our Chief Compliance Officer. Kathleen's exceptional leadership in compliance has been critical in guiding our company through the complex landscape of industry regulations with integrity and precision. Her expertise ensures that Imprint not only meets but exceeds compliance standards, safeguarding our reputation and setting a high bar for ethical business practices. Kathleen's proactive approach and commitment to excellence inspire trust and confidence among our team and stakeholders, making her an invaluable asset to our leadership. Her dedication to fostering an environment of transparency and accountability exemplifies the core values that drive Imprint forward. Join us in celebrating Kathleen Leonik for her outstanding contributions and her role in upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity at Imprint. #WomenInLeadership #ComplianceExcellence #EthicalBusiness What strategies do you employ to foster a culture of ethics and compliance within Imprint? A culture of ethics and compliance starts with a top down focus on Company values, beginning with the board and senior leadership. When values are established in an organization, and there is accountability in their practice, especially in decision making, it means everything to establishing and maintaining ethics and a culture of compliance. I often train new joiners that living by our Company values supersedes nearly all (disclosure, but not quite :)) consumer protection law. If we get our values right we are largely there.    What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a career in compliance and ethics? Compliance roles are not for people pleasers. However, with that said, they are for people who love to collaborate, problem solve and solution. I started my career in Compliance very quickly to say no to new business strategies and products that presented any new risk to the Company, because I thought that was me doing my job well. I have learned throughout my career that the best Compliance advisor is one who really spends the time to learn the Company structure and  strategy, and offers solutions to mitigate risk of new ideas, to help move them forward. While this approach is more challenging, it is 100% more rewarding.

Women Leading the Way at Imprint: Spotlight on Alexandra Schwartz In our ongoing celebration of the incredible women who lead at Imprint, we're proud to spotlight Alexandra Schwartz, our Chief Growth Officer. Alexandra's visionary approach to marketing and business development and her commitment to driving sustainable growth have been pivotal to our success. With an unmatched expertise in identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities, Alexandra has led her team to break new ground and set industry benchmarks. Her strategic initiatives and forward-thinking have not only enriched our business model but have also served as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring leaders. Join us in celebrating Alexandra Schwartz for her exceptional leadership and her significant contributions to making Imprint a leader in our industry. #WomenInLeadership #GrowthMindset #InnovativeLeadership Could you share an example of a successful strategy or campaign that you led, and what made it successful? In December, we ran a pre-screen direct mail campaign that yielded a 2.2% gross response rate (outperforming industry benchmarks by more than 4X). Many companies are divesting in mail because it can be expensive, but it is an amazing channel when done well. A few key factors drove success: Leveraging data and advanced models to inform our targeting strategy - this allowed us to identify and target segments that would have the highest propensity to respond. Cross functional collaboration - every team was involved from the onset of this campaign to ensure a holistic strategy that encompassed the collective wisdom to drive the most conversion. Creative strategy - we harnessed the power of our partner’s brand, and played into the customer’s identity with messaging and rewards that resonated with our audience. Continuous campaign monitoring - once live, we reviewed performance daily to identify and proactively solve any issues that may have been impacting results. What lessons have you learned about leadership while driving growth at Imprint? Different types of leadership have been required as our business has scaled and being able to adapt and evolve has been most important. That said, a few principles that have guided me on my journey: Leadership is about influence and impact, not authority: regardless of title or position, guide and empower others to achieve common goals and have impact. Trust based relationships are the foundation of everything: relationships are key to effective leadership, and any good relationship is built on trust. Have integrity, treat people with respect and demand it from others. Engage in healthy conflict: while it may seem uncomfortable, directly, but tactfully navigating conflict is crucial. Have the hard conversations. Hold a high bar and lead by example: The easiest way to demonstrate your expectations and teach your team is to model the behavior you expect. Roll up your sleeves and do the hard work.

Women Leading the Way at Imprint: Spotlight on Mariana Pali Coontz This month, as we celebrate the trailblazing women behind Imprint's success, we're honored to feature Mariana Coontz, our Chief Financial Officer. Mariana's strategic financial leadership and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in navigating our company through dynamic markets and propelling us toward sustainable growth. Her ability to blend innovative financial strategies with a deep commitment to our company's values and culture showcases the profound impact of visionary leadership. Mariana's work not only drives our financial success but also inspires and empowers her colleagues to strive for excellence. Join us in applauding Mariana Pali Coontz for her exceptional contributions and for setting a stellar example of leadership at Imprint. #Womeninleadership #Empowerment #FinanceInnovation We asked Mariana to share her thoughts on leading in a startup environment: Can you share a significant challenge you've faced as CFO of Imprint and how you overcame it? Joining the company as the first CFO, my biggest challenge was swiftly assembling and empowering a team capable of tackling our ambitious workload. How do you balance the need for financial prudence with the desire to invest in innovation and growth? Building a great company means that we stay focused and disciplined when it comes to our financials so that we can continuously make investments in our business to drive growth. I see the symbiotic relationship between financial prudence and growth is paramount. Furthermore, I advocate for a culture within the organization that fosters perpetual innovation and knowledge-sharing, encouraging continual improvement and efficiency gains. What advice would you give to young women aspiring to leadership roles in finance? Hard work is irreplaceable, and success is a journey, not a destination. Along this journey, strive for greatness and pursue meaningful achievements. Treat people, no matter who they are, with dignity and respect.  Your team will support you by pushing you up, peers will prop you up  and mentors and sponsors will pull you up, propelling your growth and advancement.  I think this is true across disciplines.
