Earlier this month, Chicago Fire FC invited over 500 YouthCare members and their foster families to an evening of fun! They received goodies such as T-shirts and fanny packs,. Each member was given a voucher for their family to enjoy a free meal during the game too. Before the soccer game, members were able to play games to win prizes, take pictures with Chicago Fire props, and kick soccer balls with their family. After the game, everyone stayed to enjoy a firework show to celebrate the 4th of July. YouthCare thanks Chicago Fire for their partnership with Meridian, YouthCare's parent company, and for welcoming foster kids for a memorable night.

  • According to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death among children ages 1 to 4. It is also the most avoidable. Per DCFS, most drownings result from inadequate supervision when a caregiver becomes distracted by a phone, doorbell, or other children. Young children drown quickly and silently in as little as one inch of water. For every child who drowns, five more need emergency medical care for injuries that can result in brain damage. Drowning tragedies can be prevented by supervising children when they are near water. DCFS has some tips and suggestions to help keep little ones safe this summer: https://bit.ly/45FloAU
