Vaccine bonds investing in saving lives
About us
The International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm) is a groundbreaking organization that leverages the power of international capital markets to accelerate funding for immunisation programs in the world's poorest countries. By issuing vaccine bonds, IFFIm mobilises resources swiftly and efficiently, enabling Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to protect millions of children from preventable diseases. Our innovative financing model has transformed the landscape of global health funding, providing crucial support to ensure equitable access to life-saving vaccines and strengthen healthcare systems worldwide. Join us in our mission to build a healthier future for all. IFFIm has played a leading role in developing social bonds and has been praised as a success story, earning recognition from the UN, World Bank, G8, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Financial Times among others. IFFIm’s work has received multiple awards since its founding. So far, IFFIm’s donors and investors have helped Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance protect over a billion children against deadly diseases. As we look to the future, we aim to ensure every child, everywhere has access to life-saving vaccines—and to immunise 500 million children, saving over 8 million lives between 2026 and 2030. Funding IFFIm is integral to Gavi’s 6.0 replenishment efforts. To deliver on its ambitious plan, Gavi is seeking at least US$ 9 billion in additional resources for the period 2026–2030, including US$ 1.7 billion of flexible, long-term funding financed through commitments to IFFIm. IFFIm’s proven model, underpinned by new donor pledges, will enable Gavi 6.0 to: • Frontload large-scale funding for the rapid introductions and scale-up of new and existing vaccines, such as malaria, hexavalent and HPV • Forge long-term commitments with manufacturers, securing supplies and reducing prices • Provide surge funding to respond to unexpected events, such as future outbreaks and pandemics • Deliver time-flexible funding to adapt to the changing timing of vaccine introductions and campaigns and maximise the reach to zero-dose children • Accelerate funding to help countries strengthen and sustain critical health systems Acting together, now is the time to harness the power of this unique and innovative Alliance to save lives, strengthen and accelerate global health outcomes, and protect our future.
