Blue Man Group just announced their much-anticipated return to Orlando AND a new home at ICON Park – with an immersive, custom theater that will welcome guests at our Universal Boulevard entrance. With their unique blend of creative energy and multi-sensory entertainment, the globally renowned Blue Man Group is a perfect addition to the many world-famous entertainment brands found throughout the 20-acre ICON Park. The award-winning theatrical productions and iconic characters of Blue Man Group celebrate human connection. Audiences are immersed in a live, multi-sensory, energetic performance with art, live music, comedy, special effects and non-verbal communication (which connects all ages and languages). Since the show’s original debut in New York, the beloved phenomenon has reached more than 50 million people worldwide with additional domestic residencies in Boston, Chicago and Las Vegas, an international residency in Berlin, and multiple North American and World Tours.   The company took a three-year hiatus from Orlando after wrapping up a successful 14-year run (in 2021 during COVID) to determine the right time, place and concept to return. We’re thrilled for ICON Park to become their home base in the country’s No. 1 destination, and look forward to building out their new residency.   The Blue Man Group experience at ICON Park is currently in the development planning stage and approval process, with the goal of opening late 2024. Stay tuned for more exciting updates. Last week, over a 1,000 guests from Cognizant took over ICON Park for a party to remember! The night was filled with enticing food, spectacular live entertainment, and beautiful views. Creating truly wow experiences for all who attended the night's festivities. The celebrations began at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Orlando, and Helena Modern Riviera, with staples from their menus such as Southern Style BBQ sliders, Honey Hot Chicken and Waffle Bites, and both seafood and vegetable Paella. Plus, scrumptious assorted handmade desserts and pastries. The party didn’t stop with just great food, each restaurant had their own live entertainment so there was something for everyone to enjoy! They had karaoke at Brother Jimmy’s; a Jimmy Buffet Tribute band at Ole Red; and a DJ, salsa dancing, a cigar roller, a 360-photo booth, and an aerialist at Helena. The Orlando Eye and The Carousel on The Promenade were delightful additions, with the 400-ft views of the Orlando Cityscape adding another flare of fun to the overall feeling to the event. At the height of the night, The Lawn was opened up in a grand reveal and a mini-concert by the local band, The Grand Party Experience, kept the vibes high into the late night. Last week, over 7,500 guests of AAHOA took over ICON Park for the 2024 AAHOACON Block Party to enjoy a night full of great food, live entertainment, and interactive attractions. 11 ICON Park restaurants and attractions created personalized experiences to curated lasting memorable moments for all attendees. Helena Modern Riviera, Tin Roof, and Ole Red provided staples from their menus including honey hot chicken & waffle bites, creole shrimp & grits cups, and handmade pastries, plus exciting live entertainment that kept the mood high! Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Sugar Factory, iCafe de Paris, Haagen-Dazs, Uncle Julio’s Mexican, and Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips offered delicious offerings from their menus, ranging from BBQ pulled chicken sliders, macaroni & cheese pops, fresh guacamole, fish & chips, to assortments of ice cream, pastries, and crepes. The party continued at Max Action Arena, In The Game, Museum of Illusions, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and The Orlando Eye. Guests had the opportunity to adventure through mini escape rooms, take part in eye-fooling exhibitions, capture photos with their favorite celebrities, play the newest arcade games, journey through underwater tunnels surrounded by hundreds of aquatic life, and experience Orlando from 400-ft in the sky. We proudly share that Merlin Entertainments has purchased the 400-ft. Wheel and Carousel attractions at ICON Park, choosing our 20-acre destination to expand their footprint of world-class brands in Central Florida. ICON Park built the attraction as the tallest observation wheel on the U.S. East Coast and successfully developed it into a famous Orlando landmark. We’re delighted to welcome it now as one of our outstanding ICON Park tenants. Renamed today The Orlando Eye at ICON Park, the attraction expands Merlin’s portfolio of family-friendly entertainment experiences in Orlando including two at ICON Park with SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium and Madame Tussauds Orlando, and the nearby LEGOLAND® Florida Resort and Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida.
