Other events may check the boxes but we're connecting dots. Every Camp ICology is a uniquely curated experience and every group of campers gets to experience the magic. We left the event with busy brains, warm hearts, and full bellies! (Big thanks to Firstup for hosting our campground once again.) Lydia Peddicord, MA, SCMP set a goal of speaking at a conference in 2024. BEHOLD: here she is, speaking at a conference in 2024. 🥳 We're not saying we're the reason people reach their goals but...actually that's exactly what we're saying. 😎 We passed the microphone to Lydia on purpose. Her wisdom, confidence, and experience earned her the spotlight because we knew she'd have so much to share with our campers. This is what our IRL events are all about: elevating voices and sharing the stage. Oh and maybe this had something to do with our mentorship program??? Sonia Fiorenza was there and this duo is a match made in a heavenly vineyard...you can do the math. If you've got a message to share, our community needs you. 💖

🕵️ Ever gone undercover at work? Rhonda has! Working as a customer-facing employee for the Cubs has been an eye-opening experience for her and she was happy to share her wisdom with our campers in Chicago including gems like, "more than twice is nice." ⚾️ ❤️ 💙 (She also won the made-up award for Most On-Brand Presenter Attire. Not pictured: her ruby red rhinestone sneakers!) What's something creative you do to communicate with your frontline/deskless employees?

"You are extraordinary! And you are so much more than your career." 💖 Raleigh Decker shared these wise words with our campers last week at Camp ICology, where she helped us tell the story of, well...us! As communicators, we spend so many hours telling other peoples' stories that we often put aside our own. Raleigh helped us: 💜 Define our values 🧡 Find our voices 💚 Craft our visions As much as camp is about internal comms skills that we take back to work, it's also about filling our hearts to take back home. (Could it be her Disney experience that makes Raleigh so magical???)

What would your ideal "Day One" look like at a new job? 🚘 Chauffeured transportation? 🧀 Lunchtime charcuterie? 🐴 Field trip to a petting zoo? These were just a few of the wildly creative ideas we came up with at Camp ICology, during a workshop hosted by Firstup and Brilliant Ink. They teamed up to help us dream up delightful ways to mark the magic moments of employee journeys, with some help from Disney character personas! ✨ This is what it looks like to collaborate with your industry peers. When Sonia and Chuck started planning (scheming?) with Patty and Lauren we knew the afternoon was in great hands. If you loved this workshop, tell everyone what your most creative persona/journey-mapping idea was below! ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

We don’t do pay-to-play. ✌️ Amer T. is hosting our first workshop at Camp ICology, repping his company Lucihub. He’s teaching all of us how to make compelling videos using just our smartphones. But wait - if a software company is presenting, doesn’t that mean they paid to be there? Nope. When companies and agencies share their wisdom at our events, it’s because we’re confident they have something important to share. Sometimes we offer partnerships that include a speaking slot (we’re always open about this on our agendas) but even then, we’ve got strict content rules in order to guarantee value for attendees. Just one more way we’re changing the PD game for internal communicators. 😎
