For #FAST viewers, it's not just about the "free." 📈 Free #adsupported TV has skyrocketed, with nearly 2,000 channels in the U.S., a 50% increase in just two years! Big players like Fox Corporation, Paramount, and Amazon are in the game, reaching a third of TV viewers. Yet, the real story isn't just the numbers—it's who these viewers are. FAST viewers aren't just budget-conscious; they're savvy, diverse, and willing to PAY for quality content. 📊 In fact, more than 7 in 10 FAST users subscribe to 3 or more SVODs. Although cheaper ad-supported and free streaming options abound, new data from Hub Entertainment Research suggests subscribers attach more value – and report more loyalty – to pricier ad-free TV services. And while price still matters, it’s not everything. Hub's annual "Monetization of Video" revealed consumers are feeling maxed out on the cost of #streamingvideo. 📊 The average respondent estimates they are spending $82 a month on TV content, very close to what they say is the maximum they’d be willing to pay ($87). Cheaper ad-supported and #FAST services like Pluto TV and Tubi have helped to fill the gaps for people tapped out on spending, but loyalties to those services may not be as strong. The telco recently introduced a new #myHome internet plan that will allow customers to pair a discounted streaming subscription with home internet service. Our studies have consistently shown that viewers want a unified platform to manage their subscriptions.
