We had a great time sponsoring and attending the 2024 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Civil Engineering Student Championship hosted at Brigham Young University. We are proud to support the next generation of engineers and can’t wait to see what this talented group continues to accomplish.

Project Update: Check out the progress happening over on Jones Boulevard from Blue Diamond Road (SR-160) to Windmill Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada. Horrocks is providing design and construction management services for this project to improve transportation accessibility in the community. The project consists of improving the roadway and constructing a bridge over the existing UPRR Railroad to connect Jones Boulevard to the existing elevated intersection at Blue Diamond Road. We look forward to seeing the continued progress and thank our clients and partners for the opportunity to work together on this project. Check out this Clark County Public Works - Jones Blvd. Blue Diamond to Windmill project for which Horrocks Engineers designed and is now providing construction management services. Steel girders are about to be set on the 6 pier caps, 47 columns and drilled shafts. This bridge is on a 30 degree skew due to being constructed over the Union Pacific Railroad main track through Las Vegas and an existing CCRFCD storm drain channel. This bridge has long been needed for residents and businesses as a connection between Blue Diamond and the 215 Beltway.

Horrocks has been at the forefront of Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) design since this innovative interchange concept was introduced in the U.S. Though unconventional in design, DDI has been shown to improve safety and efficiency in high-traffic areas by allowing traffic to flow easier and reducing conflict points for drivers. In addition to developing DDI design guidelines for the Utah Department of Transportation, Horrocks also designed the second ever DDI to go into operation in the nation as part of the $1.3B I-15 CORE Design-Build project in Utah County, UT.
