April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. As Hope Center for Children’s mission is to protect children from abuse and neglect, on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, Hope Center staff and volunteers, accompanied by our new friends from Spartanburg Professional Baseball Club, planted pinwheels at Morgan Square in Spartanburg. In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign. Their research showed, and experiences since then have reinforced, that people respond positively to pinwheels. They represent childlike whimsy and lightheartedness and the vision for a world where all children grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed in supportive families and communities. We all affect children's lives. Children raised in safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments are more academically and financially successful and grow up to be productive, contributing members of their communities. Pinwheels remind us that we all play a role in children’s lives. Hope Center for Children’s commitment extends to meeting a range of child and family needs, ensuring that children in the Upstate thrive. We rely on a strong network of dedicated volunteers, staff, and community members to make a difference.
