Celebrating 60 years of whatever it takes. Day in and day out, we help people overcome.
About us
WHO WE ARE: Hope Network is a non-profit organization operating across the state of Michigan. We have 240 locations and serve over 34,000 people with disabilities or disadvantages each and every year. WHAT WE DO: We help people overcome physical, mental or social barriers that impact how they live. The result is fulfillment through independence, progress, and community integration. Whether it’s… …a dad recovering from a brain injury …a child growing up with autism …an ex-offender trying to re-enter society …a teenager battling depression We have countless stories of restoration to tell. HOW WE DO IT: For over 60 years, we’ve provided neuro rehabilitation, behavioral healthcare, developmental support services, autism services, community support, and more. We do this because we believe every person was created to live life to the fullest – no matter their age, no matter their background, no matter what’s holding them back. WHY IT MATTERS: 60 million people in the U.S. suffer from disabilities or disadvantages that impact how they live. Over one million of these people live in Michigan. To put it into perspective, that’s more than the population of Detroit. A majority have fallen through the cracks and aren’t receiving the care they deserve. That’s a problem – but we’re solving it by being advocates for these people. hopenetwork.org | 800.695.7273

So excited to be working with Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) and several local public safety agencies today, leading a specialized Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training. Unlike standard MHFA, this session will focus on "Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety," tailored for individuals in roles in and beyond law enforcement, including firefighters and emergency medical personnel. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthFirstAid

MENTAL HEALTH TIPS Mindfulness is the state of being fully present in the moment – the opposite of mindlessness. When we are mindful, we can assess our circumstances and act in ways that are safe and responsible. This is especially important during a crisis like the one our world is currently in. Simple exercises can make a big difference with limited effort. Try this brief “reset” exercise: · Name 5 things you can see. · Name 4 things you can touch. · Name 3 things you can hear. · Name 2 things you can smell. · Name 1 thing you can taste. · Fill your lungs to the bottom, breathe out slowly against pursed lips. · Resume the tasks before you.

MENTAL HEALTH TIPS It's easy to default to negative ways of thinking. A good way to foster positivity is to reframe our thoughts. It's like the classic, ""Do I see this glass as half-full or half-empty?"" Both are true depending on how you frame it. The simple exercise of reframing helps put our minds more at ease, and protects our mental health from spinning out of control.
