Non-U.S. residents (also known as someone who is “non-domiciliary”) have some complex estate and gift tax laws to adhere to. During a recent overseas flight, Managing Partner Josh Maxwell looked out his window to see the twinkling lights of a foreign city far below. As he thought of the people living and working there, it hit him how, no matter where in the world you are, most of us are experiencing similar issues. Parents worry about paying the bills. Teenagers fall in, and out of, love. Business owners think about payroll, inventory and meeting their goals. We all have more in common than we realize.
