  • 🌟 HMC-1 is proud to announce Danielle Williams is the new assistant principal of Ingels Elementary School, HMC-1’s extended calendar school. 🌟 With a diversified educational background and career experience, Ms. Williams has proven positive results in academics, leadership, and relationship building in the Kansas City and suburban communities. Recently, while serving as the assistant principal at Ervin Elementary School, Ms. Williams focused on developing and maintaining an effective educational program and assisting the principal with the overall administration of the school by interpreting and enforcing school policies and regulations. With 20+ years of experience in education, Ms. Williams started her career at Swinney Elementary School. She has also served as a district and school instructional coach, successfully conducting teacher professional development and training them on curriculum and lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and collaborative data talks.   • 🌟 HMC-1 is thrilled to announce Derek Jordan as the new assistant principal at Ruskin High School. 🌟 Mr. Jordan is an experienced educational leader, currently the principal of Crittenton Education Center and HMC-1’s Hearing Officer. He has a proven background in leading students and staff and has served as an officer in the Army Reserves for 28 years. With 30 years of experience as a teacher, athletic coach, and administrator, Mr. Jordan brings a history of empathy, accomplishment, and success. Before serving as the principal at Crittenton, Mr. Jordan was the principal at Smith Hale Middle School, principal and hearing officer in the Grandview School District, and principal of Central High School and Success Academy at KCPS before retiring. His biggest accomplishment is raising his two children. We are excited to welcome Mr. Jordan to the Ruskin High School team!   • 🌟 HMC-1 is thrilled to announce that Dr. Erica Edwards has been promoted to Director of Elementary Schools. 🌟 A proud Hickman Mills High School graduate, Dr. Edwards has dedicated her 18-year career to our district, exemplifying a deep commitment to our community and students. Dr. Edwards' journey in education began as a teacher, where she spent seven years inspiring young minds. Her leadership potential soon became evident as she served as an instructional coach for four years. Most recently, she has been an elementary school Principal for six years, where her innovative approach and dedication to excellence have significantly benefited both staff and students. We are excited to see Dr. Edwards bring her extensive experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to this new role.   • 🌟 HMC-1 is excited to introduce Dr. Kimberly Shaw as the new principal of Ervin Early Learning Center. 🌟 Dr. Shaw is an experienced administrator with a robust history in education management, most recently serving as the principal of Warford Elementary since 2022. Before joining HMC-1, Dr. Shaw held prominent leadership roles, including Instructional Improvement Officer for Elementary and Early Childhood Programs and Executive Director for Early Childhood through Fifth Grade for Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. With 30 years of experience in education, she excels in curriculum development, staff development, and educational consulting. Dr. Shaw also has extensive expertise in early childhood and special education. She gives back to the community through multiple organizations; she currently serves as a Board Member for the Children’s Campus of Kansas City.
