Arbor Day in Highlands Ranch this year was especially meaningful. Volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 870 and Centennial Water & Sanitation District planted 24 trees today at Big Dry Creek Park. The trees in the park were significantly impacted by last year's tornado. Purchased with a grant from Reforest Colorado, the new oaks, lindens, maples, pines and other species now fill in some of the gaps left by the storm. The Metro District's dedication to forest management was recognized once again by the Arbor Day Foundation with a designation as a Tree City USA for the 36th consecutive year. Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out this morning to restore and renew the beauty of Highlands Ranch. To read more about today's Arbor Day celebration, go to https://lnkd.in/g_7TQ5bN.

Beginning the morning of Thursday, March 21, expect extended delays and crews on foot at the intersection of University/Lincoln and Quebec. Northbound Quebec will be reduced to one lane from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for paving operations from Dutch Creek Street to Timberline Road. New concrete will be 9 inches deep and needs time to set, so extended lane closures are necessary. Please expect delays. Keep the following safety tips in mind as you navigate this work zone: 1. Watch for crews. 2. Before you hit the road, check your mapping applications for current travel times. Give yourself time to get to your destination. 3. Follow posted speed limits. 4. Do not drive distracted. 5. Sign up for project text updates by texting ‘QLUnews’ to 21000. For more detailed information on traffic impacts, visit https://lnkd.in/gcmkzUkg
