TODAY Covered California announced their 2025 health coverage rates. While premiums are set to increase 7.9%, most enrollees will actually see lower costs thanks to investments from the state budget & the Biden-Harris Inflation Reduction Act #IRA. But without federal action, enrollees could see costs spike next year as the #IRA subsidies are set to expire. “We know these investments work, as enrollment Covered California is at an all-time high. But that means more Californians are at risk of seeing their health care costs go up. Inaction is inexcusable” said our Director of Policy and Advocacy, Diana Douglas. Health Access California reposted this
State leaders are stepping up across the country to tackle health care costs. In California, the Office of Health Care Affordability voted 6-1 to set a cost growth cap of 3% over the next 5 years, which will put downward pressure on hospital prices. Thanks to the leadership of Health Access California for their tireless efforts and to the team at Arnold Ventures working to ensure accessing care is not a devastating blow to the family budget. https://lnkd.in/eGsrT4mr

California Governor Newsom's #MayRevise #CABudget proposed health cuts would prevent many from getting needed care, in particular, disabled and elderly undocumented Californians receiving IHSS services. We urge legislators to balance cuts with revenues, and ensure much-needed health care access and affordability. "Removing funding from these services could result in further impoverishment, and increased state spending on expensive nursing home care. This cut is not just picking on a particular population, but penny wise and pound foolish" said Anthony Wright Read more: https://lnkd.in/gPG8uyBv
