We're excited to kick off the HSS Open House at the Results for Development office! Today, we will explore the latest innovations and progress in health systems strengthening with partners from USAID Global Health, ICF, Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation, and many others! As the Accelerator's Project Director said this morning, “We’ve seen that systems thinking is very powerful and can accelerate pathways of impact. We’ve seen this in the integration of rehabilitation services, a new way to ensure safe blood for the mother who needs it to prevent postpartum hemorrhage, in moving from siloed to integrated health programs, in a holistic approach to something as critical as primary health care.” Learn more about the HSS Open House here: bit.ly/4628Rbb

Thrilled to participate in the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) with key stakeholders in the Community Health and Primary Health Care sector. Our team, including Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation and Results for Development, shared significant findings from four recent Community Health Workers (CHWs) reviews covering training, financing, recruitment, and digital innovations. The workshop provided valuable insights into the challenges, best practices, and innovative solutions. The engagement and contributions from all participants were truly impressive.
Had the opportunity to lead the Nigeria Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator (HSSA) work representing Results for Development to host the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) , key stakeholders and partners working in the Community Health and Primary Health Care space in a “Knowledge Sharing and Learning Exchange Workshop on Community Health Workforce Programs in Low-Middle-Income-Countries (LMICs)” today at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The HSSA team: Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation and Results for Development shared key findings from four recent reviews we conducted and the briefs that we developed around Community Health Worrkers (CHWs) training, financing, recruitment and digital innovations by the Health Workforce Initiative – an activity under the global HSSA program in Nigeria and Ivory Coast. We had a panel discussion session with a great line up of expert speakers including the government representatives, CHW financing, recruitment, training and digital innovation experts. The experts, with impressive experience in the Nigeria health system helped to contextualize the discussions on how the findings and recommendations can be adopted not only in the broader health system strengthening efforts but also to the current ongoing redesign of a new CHW program in Nigeria led by the NPHCDA. The workshop session offered insights into major challenges, best practices, and innovative solutions across the LMICs and provided the opportunity for a Nigeria-centric discussion. The contribution from the participants in the room was impressive.
