This past year, a new class of sixth graders joined our expanding middle school and felt instantly welcome – including Jaime, who shared that Harlem Academy isn’t only more advanced than her old school; it’s more of a community too. As our school continues to grow, more promising students will have the opportunity to fulfill their potential and follow in the footsteps of Harlem Academy’s thriving alumni community, including our most recent graduates who are headed to Dalton, Kent, Lawrenceville, Spence, Trinity, Westover, and other top high schools. There is still time to make an impact before the fiscal year ends on June 30. In honor of our 20th year, please make a gift to help provide more scholarships as we expand enrollment again this fall. https://bit.ly/3VGiFTv

Thank you to the volunteers from Sixth Street for spending time with our students picking out new books, making fun bookmarks, and playing at recess. They had a blast! You made the last few weeks of school even more special.

The middle school Shakespeare elective’s rendition of Much Ado About Nothing left the audience in awe! The joyous and humorous performance showcased our talented students’ deep understanding of the play and impressive acting skills. Thank you to Mr. Bell, Ms. Massie, Ms. Cooper '14, and Classical Theatre of Harlem for all you did to make the performance possible!

Over the last month, our middle schoolers have been working in groups to design their own daylong field trip in New York City – and all of their hard work and planning paid off. On Friday, students explored the city’s different boroughs, visiting the Brooklyn Bridge, the World Trade Center, and other landmarks; browsing museum exhibits at the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of the City of New York, and more; and even tasting their way through the Smorgasburg food market.
