I believe that doing what you love will never be a challenge in your life. This summer I have been a live production intern at Happy Egg, and it has been one of the most rewarding and fantastic experiences during my professional career. My role is based on assisting the operations team with vertical integration, compliance, production standards, data collection, and analysis. During the first two weeks of my internship, I had the opportunity to work with the compliance team and learn all the essential and specific details based on certifications, training, and specifications that farmers must follow up with to become Happy Egg Farmers. I want to thank you to Nikolas Birchfield and Elissa Melchior for all your patience and time in teaching those essential aspects. During those weeks, I also had the opportunity to learn and understand their special and amazing heritage breed with their specialist Michaela Day. Also, during the last three weeks, I have learned about aspects of live production such as placement, barn requirements, farmers' recruitment, and service to existing farmers. It has been such a great experience learning, understanding, and getting the hands-on experience to effectively and efficiently learn all the important aspects of farms. I want to give a shout-out to JT Bowen, Samantha Green, Ty Edwards, and Chris Martin for teaching, showing and potentially contributing to my time as an intern at this prestigious company. Finally, I am halfway through my internship, but so far it has been a remarkable experience for me to have a great and clear understanding of the egg industry. This entire company and all their employees have shown and demonstrated to me that not only do they care about themselves, but they also highly care about their farmers and consumers. Their core values, which are In It Together, Bias for Action, Hungry to Grow, and Raise the Standard, represent what they are and how they make a positive impact in the industry.
