The 2nd annual JOLT Northwest Colorado Energy Summit in Montrose CO did not disappoint! From the speaker/sponsor reception remarks from Senator John Hickenlooper – to the thoughtful agenda, the theme of “All of the Above” energy resources made room for a wide variety of voices and perspectives. Guzman Energy is a proud sponsor of JOLT. Thank you JOLT committee organizers Ray Beck (who spent 37 years with Yampa Valley Electric Association!), Representative Rose Pugliese, Montrose County Commissioner Sue Hansen, Colorado Northwestern Community College President Dr. Lisa Jones, Delta County Commissioner Wendall Koontz, and Jackson County Star Editor Matthew Shuler. Day 1 had a quality lineup and notable attendees. Thank you Kara C. of Power Company of Wyoming and Trans-West Express for starting the day with a great overview of transmission and wind energy expansion in the West. Great to hear from Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser on ensuring community voices are heard. The Western Slope has a lot to say about energy and Guzman Energy is delighted to be part of it. Great visiting with community leaders State Senator Barb Kirkmeyer, Jeffrey S. Hurd, YVEA CEO Steve Johnson, and Bryce Carter of the CO Energy Office. More to come on speakers Guzman Energy’s Robin Lunt and Delta-Montrose Electric Association's Mateusz Pena‘s remarks from the event – but for today, thank you team JOLT!

KCEC wants to thank the members who attended and the speakers who shared their amazing insights with us. It was one to remember, including honoring both Taos and Picuris Pueblos! We appreciate you. Also, a big shout-out to Guzman Energy for their participation! Lt Governor Howie Morales was awesome, too!

One of the best days on the Guzman calendar of events is the annual Kit Carson Electric Cooperative Inc. scholarship day where we jointly present scholarships to KCEC service territory high school graduates. This year was as gratifying as ever. Thank you KCEC, Luis A. Reyes Jr. and Jeffrey Heit for keeping this great community program so vibrant year after year!
