Last month Plainfield Mayor Adrian O. Mapp honored Plainfield Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Program during a City Council meeting. Jansel and Sofia, along with fellow staff members Julissa Charles and Anaya Villalobos, joined Plainfield YMCA through a strategic hiring partnership with School Youth Based Services and the JAG program. This collaboration connects the YMCA with students eager to enter the workforce. When asked what they loved most about working with school-age childcare students, Jansel shared, "I love impacting future generations by teaching daily life skills and interacting with students." Julissa added, "I love being around kids and enjoy learning about them daily. My favorite part is hearing them say, 'Hi Miss Julissa.'" Sofia noted, "I love working with kids because we impact their lives and watch them grow. Their hugs and appreciation mean a lot." We are incredibly proud of Jansel and Sofia for their hard work and dedication! Their recognition is a testament to their achievements and the effectiveness of our partnership with Youth School Based Services and the JAG program.
