💙Last week our CEO Terry Banez completed her third year of training with the US Chamber's Institute for Organization Management . She spent the week surrounded by her peers from the National and International Chambers of Commerce, while attending courses to further her education and to continue growing as a leader to better the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce and our business community!

🎄The Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the 2024 Christmas Parade! This cherished tradition kicked off in 1965, and has been a yearly event that unites our community in the wonderful spirit of Christmas. This year we’re asking everyone to “Believe,” with the GWCC and join us on December 8th at 5 PM for the annual Christmas celebration! ✍️Local marching bands can secure early access by reaching out to Lauren Moore, Vice President of Communications & Programming. ✂️Earlier this week, we at the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce and the City of Williamsburg, Virginia got to cut the ribbon at Williamsburg Downtown! Williamsburg Downtown supports city improvements projects and events that take advantage of Williamsburg's historical and natural beauty. 🙌The goal of Williamsburg Downtown is to work in partnership with the City of Williamsburg as well as local businesses and organizations to benefit the economic vitality of the Downtown Business District. The city has more to offer than people often realize, and it's Williamsburg Downtown's goal to shine a light on all it has to offer.

💙As we at the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce wrap up the 2023-2024 fiscal year, we want to take a look back at what we were able to achieve with the business community! Over this last year, we crossed the 800 member mark, were able to offer four scholarships to #Pathways2Careers students, and were able to send 45 service members home through the Home for the Holidays program. 🤝We want to thank our Board of Directors, investors, committee members, and of course all our members for making the 2023-2024 fiscal year so amazing.

✂️Last week the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce along with James City County Economic Development cut the ribbon at Logue & Associates PLLC Specialty Health Services! Logue & Associates is a health services provider that specializes in delivering high quality health care to the residents and veterans of Williamsburg. 💙Owner Valerie Moorer is a US Army Veteran and retired VA Nurse with 32 years of experience. She is passionate about enhancing Veteran care and services to the Greater Williamsburg area. She is excited to have the opportunity to share her clinical expertise in collaborations with others.

Last week the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce converged on the docks of Jamestown Settlement to honor 4 businesses and individuals that really stand out in our community. I want to give a shoutout to the cool kid himself, Zach Kirkpatrick for winning the first ever Emerging Leader of the Year award! Congrats to all or the other winners and all finalists. Thanks to everyone that stopped for a photo at the Cannon Country tent!

💙The gavel was passed last week during the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce 2024 Annual Meeting and Business Awards! The 2023-2024 Board of Directors Chair Ben Ellington, Senior Vice President of Southern Bank and Trust Company , will be stepping down from the role for the upcoming fiscal year. We want to thank Ben Ellington for his service as our Board Chair. His outstanding leadership and many contributions have positively influenced the GWCC and our local business community over the past year. 🙌Moving into the role of Chair is Dr. Porter Brannon President of Virginia Peninsula Community College ! Adria Vanhoozier, Hospital President of Riverside Health Doctors' Hospital was welcomed as the new Vice Chair. Jeff Thomas, Vice President of Busch Gardens & Water Country USA will continue his role as Board Treasurer. 👋Please join us in welcoming our 2024-2025 Board of Directors Officers!
