Congratulations to our most recent U.S. citizens! GLCAC’s Director of Workforce Development-Adult Learning and Financial Empowerment Esther Albuquerque was a special guest invited by the local USCIS office in Lawrence to an Oath Ceremony where over 105 new citizens received their naturalization certificates. In her speech, she congratulated the new citizens, wished them the best, and promoted the services of our agency to the event attendees.

Congratulations to the 200 students who recently advanced their education and earned certificates through GLCAC. Of those, 185 completed English for Speakers of Other Languages classes and 15 finished training to become a Personal Care Assistant. Education is the first step toward achieving your professional and professional goals. GLCAC is holding a Child Health Fair on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Heritage State Park, 1 Jackson St. in Lawrence. Join us for free activities and refreshments, and learn how GLCAC’s programs can help your family stay healthy. We will have information about the Lawrence Lead Abatement Program, WIC, Healthcare Navigator, and Head Start. In the event of rain, please join us in the visitor’s center.
