Great Wolf Lodge takes pride in always putting safety first. Throughout National Safety Month in June, our lodges took the opportunity to highlight that pledge. ��Over the course of the month, we focused on Pack wellness, safety education, and creative ways to make safety engaging for everyone,” says Melissa Wornick, Great Wolf’s Corporate Risk Manager. “These annual events help uphold our commitment to keeping our Pack Members and our guests safe.” From employee trivia nights to health and wellness outreach, we’re always looking for new ways to promote safety at our lodges.

To celebrate the September opening of our new South Florida lodge in Naples, we took over the Strawberry Moon restaurant and swim club in Miami Beach yesterday for an all-ages family pool party. With a live DJ, choreographed Great Wolf dances, a meet and greet with Wiley Wolf, and a giant chocolate fountain, the fun never stopped! Featuring an appearance from celebrity mom and actress Beverly Mitchell, our party was a resounding success. We can’t wait for everyone to experience our 22nd lodge.

We’re proud to share our latest recognition as the ideal vacation destination for families. The Wall Street Journal says Great Wolf Lodge is “at the forefront” of family-friendly getaways within driving distance. They tout our affordable prices, popular indoor water parks, and emphasis on entertainment for guests of all ages. As we grow our business and open new lodges, we’ll continue to keep the focus on our mission: Bringing joy to families.

We’ve moved up the grand opening of our lodge in Webster, TX! Starting August 7, families can experience the newest Great Wolf Lodge just south of Houston—and we’re now hiring for a variety of positions. Love Your Lodge is our way of celebrating Pack Members who have made a career at Great Wolf Lodge. Today, we’re featuring Laura E. Neubauer Neubauer, Director of Human Resources at Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City, and a Pack Member for more than 25 years. 1. What do you love about working at Great Wolf Lodge? Our company provides countless opportunities for individuals who are passionate about building their career in hospitality. In my role I have hired and trained many current Great Wolf leaders, whether it’s a newly promoted supervisor, an HR Manager (who is now an HR Director), or an Entertainment Ambassador hired as part of the Management Development Program—and is now a Director of Housekeeping. Years ago, I hired a lifeguard, who has now been with the brand 25 years and is a General Manager running a lodge. 2. What’s a way that you get to help out other Pack Members working at Great Wolf? I really enjoy training new HR managers and directors during their onboarding. I have also assisted pack members as part of a task force for new lodge openings. There is nothing more special than seeing new leaders become passionate about Great Wolf’s purpose—bringing joy to families— and our amazing brand. 3. What’s an example of something you’ve done at the lodge outside of normal work responsibilities that makes it rewarding? In April 2023, I attended a Ukrainian community gathering where I was introduced and spoke to numerous refugees and their family members. This was the beginning of our lodge’s partnership with Bethany Christian Services and the Ukrainian community in Traverse City. We now employ ten refugees at our lodge, and we we’re so fortunate to be part of this community and the employer of these valued Pack Members.

This week, we welcomed 12 recent college graduates to our pack. They’ll be participating in our two-year Management Development Program (MDP). This program develops future Directors across our brand, through a well-rounded experience created to provide expertise in different fields across our business. Participants work in a manager-level role and master multiple disciplines within the hospitality and entertainment industry. Additionally, they’ll have the opportunity to travel and work at three of our lodges throughout North America. We’re thrilled to announce that exterior construction of our upcoming lodge in Mashantucket, CT is complete. Last week, we welcomed Okia Dixon, Randy T., Ryan Trissel, and Sean Norcross, MBA, SHRM-CP Norcross to the pack at Great Wolf Lodge. They’ll be participating in Great Wolf’s two-year HR Leadership Development Program (HRLDP). This program develops future HR leaders across our brand. Over the course of the program, they receive hands-on experience, personalized development plans, and structured learning to master the field of Human Resources. Additionally, all four will enjoy the chance to experience and support HR departments at two of our 20 lodges throughout North America. Howls to the newest members of our pack!

We’ve partnered with Miami-based Derek Kaplan and his Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop to bring his delicious desserts to our new Naples, FL lodge! Upon the grand opening of Great Wolf Lodge South Florida this fall, we’ll offer a limited-time menu of his most popular cakes and pies through the end of the year. For each slice purchased, we’ll make a $5 donation to the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Foundation, helping to fund scholarships for aspiring fire and emergency technicians in Collier and Miami-Dade Counties. This new partnership helps us bring joy to our guests and provide support to the first responder community.
