There's a lot of different approaches to #earlyeducation. Here's a quick overview of some of the leading methods: 📕 Montessori: The Montessori approach is based around the whole child & their individual needs. There’s a strong emphasis on hands-on learning in a prepared environment that fosters independence and academic areas of inquiry. 📗 Play-Based: Play-based learning encourages children to learn through the act of play. This model embraces kids’ inherent curiosity and creativity to organically support their cognitive development. 📘 Reggio Emilia Inspired: The Reggio Emilia approach believes that children are co-constructors of their knowledge. It places the role of the child and educator as researchers & observers together. With an emphasis on using the senses, the expressive arts play a central role in this approach. 📙 Bank Street: The Bank Street approach is rooted in developmental-interaction. Social studies and interactions are fostered by the teacher acting as a facilitator of learning for children, with an emphasis on human connection & community. 📓 Waldorf: The Waldorf method places significant emphasis on developing the understanding of the natural world in relation to the child & humanity. Its teaching focuses on integrating drama, movement, visual arts, and music to support the cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and physical well being of the child. 📒 Project-Based: The Project-based approach is also rooted in constructivist learning. This style encourages children to develop real life skills through problem-solving, overcoming challenges, and becoming independent learners through multi-faceted, long-term projects. _________ Still not sure which approach is best for your family? Stay tuned - we'll be breaking down each of these methods further in the coming weeks. #education #parenting #montessori

Our founder, Saachi Dhingra, went to the Care Summit last week. The Care Summit is all about the future of the care economy and bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders. Thank you to the sponsors Cake Ventures, Pivotal Ventures, GingerBread Capital, Ulu Ventures, The Holding Co., and Magnify Ventures for leading the charge on an underinvested industry. Here are Saachi’s four takeaways from the summit.

What’s in a name? Our founder, Saachi, named the company Sachi for a few reasons: 📕 The values associated with the name in both of its translations were ones we wanted to be clearly communicated 📕 A lot of brands in the child/parent space are named after childlike names. The name Sachi was a way to play into that while being true to our founder’s heritage 📕 Saachi spent ten years in the classroom as a pre-school teacher. During this time, she realized that kids had fun saying her name, and liked that our brand could bring joy whenever it was said

Founder & CEO at Sachi | Childcare & Community Builder

Last Thursday, we had our first dinner for sachi’s advisors ☺️ In these days of remote first, it’s not necessary or even common for investors to come together at this stage but it’s important to me to bring those who I am learning from together in community. Even more powerful than the capital is all the growth that happens in conversation with the amazing humans that have invested in me and my team. Thrilled to share that Dorothy Kilroy (she/her), Kat Steinmetz, Linus Liang, Taft Love, Vivek Ramani have joined this angel round alongside friends & family. As a first time founder, my team and I executed an MVP with half our budget and in less than a year. We started raising an angel round in Feb 2023 but then SVB went bust. So we hunkered down and built our #MVP with our first three angels support (Cristina Cordova, Aston Motes and Sandeep Singhal) and Laurabeth Harvey and Tiffani Jones Brown being star advisors. This bridge angel round has helped us bring on a wildly experienced product designer 🤐 and build our GTM strategy with Lucia Litman ✨ for the highest quality product and experience. Our community of families and educators deserve the absolute best support and tools while navigating the complexities of modern childcare. We are more than 3/4 raised of our ask after 2 months. Please feel free to reach out if you’re an angel or a fund interested in learning more. #edtech #famtech #childcaremarketplace #angelround #angelinvestors

👏🏽Every 👏🏽single 👏🏽 time I chat with a #founder I learn something. This week I had the opportunity to chat with Donald Scott II who is working on building a network of ride sharing for school age children (amazing idea for carpool hacking ✨). We were chatting and he shared his perspective on some of the stats I shared. That he knew many #educators and was aware that the majority of them held second part time jobs. When I shared that 82% of PreK-12 educators in the classroom NEED a second job to continue working in the field, he paused. Donald shared with me that while knew that educators wages are low, he really thought this was because those educators were mismanaging their finances. I want to highlight that this is an extremely common misconception. While most people know at least one educator in their life, I think the general public does not truly understand how low educator wages are. Poverty level wages. Many, many educators who do not have financial support from a partner or family member often rely on programs like SNAP/food stamps. sachi is just one place where educators can supplement their income or have transitional income while leaving the field. We’re also here to evolve public perception and understanding about the highly skilled work that education professionals do.
