For Chief Marketing Officer Fiona Carter, being an influential leader means being a constant student of our businesses. In her nearly four years with Goldman Sachs, she's assembled a team of global marketers focused on translating the firm's commercial activities, deep expertise, and markets analysis into modern marketing that helps more people — from clients and prospects to recruits and alumni — experience the excellence of Goldman Sachs. Congratulations Fiona Carter on being named one of The World’s Most Influential CMOs by Forbes. Read more: https://click.gs.com/a6dr

As seen in our Briefings newsletter: Goldman Sachs Research has raised its year-end target for the S&P 500 from 5200 to 5600, driven by milder-than-average negative earnings revisions and a higher valuation multiple. The S&P 500 index has returned about 15% since the start of the year, and earnings and valuation have contributed equally to that return. Earlier this month, we gathered more than 400 elite women traders and investors for our annual flagship Women in Trading event in London. Conversations in the room ranged from equity market valuation and the evolution of capital investment in AI, to the critical need to improve gender balance in leadership ranks. Three years in, we're proud to convene so many exceptional leaders and underscore the significant progress they're driving in the industry.

What a fantastic time in London last week—Hosted female investors and traders from 175 institutions who convened at Women Take The Trading Floor, a GS flagship event that emphasizes the importance of diversity in finance. In a conversation led by GS’s Leonie Morel, speakers Leda Braga and GS alumnae, Hilde Jenssen, CFA and Dr. Dambisa Moyo, I was struck by their journeys in driving meaningful change. This wasn’t a room that was defined by ‘who here is a client’ or ‘who here is from a competitor’—but rather a vast and united group of women in risk-taking roles who are all committed to progress. In addition to Hilde and Dr. Dambisa on the stage, it was especially rewarding to see so many GS alumnae in the audience. Along with our firm’s Women in Trading program and the Women Trader Academy, I am proud of the collective, industry-wide initiatives to increase female representation and foster an inclusive culture.
