Generation Thrive graduated its third cohort of Bridging the Bay, Igniting Leaders of Change, presented by Rocket Lawyer to provide capacity-building and resources for executive and c-suite leaders guiding Bay Area pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade youth-serving nonprofits. We are inspired by the commitment of 16 nonprofit executives who came together to refine their leadership skills and transformative peer learning. Spanning three months of intensive leadership development training, participants gained skills in self-awareness, communication, critical thinking, inclusion, and collaboration, and received executive coaching sessions. This cohort represented organizations focused on youth development, educational equity, mental health, and violence prevention.
About us
The Golden State Warriors organization is a charter member of the National Basketball Association. Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors and ultimately, in 1971, the Golden State Warriors when the team moved across the Bay to its home in Oakland, where they stayed for 47 seasons. Now located in San Francisco, the Warriors call Chase Center home. Chase Center, an 18,064-seat sports and entertainment arena, anchors Thrive City, the multipurpose, privately financed complex in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood consisting of 3.2 acres of publicly accessible plazas and open space that are part of a larger mixed-use development including two office buildings and dozens of unique restaurant and retail locations. The Golden State Warriors have proudly announced the addition of a WNBA franchise coming 2025.

"Jerry West was an incredible and unique individual, having accomplished immeasurable heights in the game of basketball. He reached the absolute pinnacle of the sport as both a player and executive, something few can claim in the profession. He did so much for the NBA, the game of basketball and each of the teams he was associated with during his unmatched career, including the Warriors. Jerry had a profound and immense impact on our franchise and was instrumental in our recent decade of success. Personally, as a child, despite growing up a Celtics fan in Massachusetts, Jerry was my idol and I loved him. To me, he was basketball. He was not just about the actual game, but he personified competitiveness. He was the most competitive individual I have ever met, settling for nothing short of greatness. He had to win. It consumed him. He was bigger than life. He was an icon. We are devastated with today’s news of his passing and extend our prayers and support to his wife, Karen, his entire family and the NBA community." - Joe Lacob
